Preseason Super Bowl 59 betting lines had the Chiefs as the first and the Eagles fifth overall to win it all, so it shouldn’t be a shock to see them set to clash at the Caesars Superdome on February 9.

Kansas City Chiefs’ quest to become the first three-peat Super Bowl champion continues next Sunday. Last year the Chiefs became the first back-to-back champs since the New England Patriots 19 years prior.

1. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (-125)

If you are a believer in momentum, the Eagles have that coming into the Super Bowl. Philadelphia has averaged the fourth-best offensive EPA per play if we exclude all teams from Week 18 where many starters rested. If forced to choose a side I would go with the Eagles and thus I prefer their touchdown scorer betting line.

Jalen Hurts has been the gift that keeps on giving and I expect that trend to continue. Although it’s not the typical juicy plus-money NFL odds we typically look for, he is the only player below even money worth paying a few extra cents on.

The Eagles quarterback rushed for three touchdowns in the NFC championship game and has at least one rushing score in 12 of his 17 healthy games including the playoffs. According to NFL news outlets, Hurts had a league-high expected touchdown total of 14.5, trailing only Kyren Williams and Josh Jacobs in carries inside the 5-yard line. With the Chiefs defense expected to deploy plenty of attention to Saquon Barkley, Hurts can take advantage of this if the Chiefs linebackers don’t account for him on option runs. Oh, let’s not forget the Eagles’ patented “tush push”.

Hurts scored three touchdowns in Super Bowl 57 against Kansas City. I expect the “Brotherly Shove” to help him find his way to paydirt at least once on Sunday, making him a great NFL player prop bet.

2. Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown (+280)

Kansas City had a down season by their standards, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. It took until the AFC championship game for them to exceed 30 points this season.

Super Bowl 59 should play out to be an absolute slugfest. The Eagles will game plan to establish the run early to control the clock and time of possession, but no matter how good this Eagles defense is, Mahomes will be able to put points on the board.

It doesn’t hurt that the Eagles and Hurts are susceptible to taking too many sacks. This could lead to a couple of extra short field possessions for Kansas City. During the regular season, Hurts was sacked 38 times–10th most in the NFL—due in large part to his league-high 3.22 second average time to throw. PFF has charged 18.8% of Hurts’ pressured dropbacks to him (9th highest), and his average time to sack rate (3.94 seconds) is the fourth-longest mark in the league.

Many expected Brown to enjoy a breakout season in his first year with the Chiefs but a preseason injury held him out until late in the year.. With extra rest, we should expect to see him unleashed and he is in a good spot to be a focal point for the Chiefs offense. The Eagles do a good job limiting big plays but Brown will have multiple targets. Only Xavier Worthy was on the field for more snaps (82%) than Brown (65%) in the AFC title game from the Chiefs wide receiving room. While Worthy is an intriguing online bet to score anytime, the price on Hollywood is much more enticing.
