Chiefs vs Eagles Super Bowl LVII Picks
Riley Thomas
Super Bowl 57 will likely come down to the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive line against the Philadelphia Eagles defensive line. The Eagle’s pass rush is three sacks away from passing the 1985 Chicago Bears for the second-most sacks in one entire NFL season.
- Pick: Philadelphia 27, Kansas City 20
I’m not sure how the Chiefs can stop Haason Reddick and Co.
Nikki Adams
Everything, as far as the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 57 prospects are concerned, appears to hinge on Patrick Mahomes’ sprained right ankle – the most talked about ankle in the world right now. Thanks to said ankle, Kansas City, the preseason NFL betting favorites (alongside the Buffalo Bills), saw its odds to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy fall behind Philadelphia as the playoffs entered the penultimate round.
Not even Mahomes’ heroics, passing for 326 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs’ 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game, would repair the damage that was already done to their betting online value.
But that was then. Two weeks ago. Mahomes has had time to rest and recover since, and he should be raring to go. There’s a lot to like about the Eagles, sure. But a soft schedule, an easy ride in the postseason against banged-up opponents, and a maiden voyage into the Big Game for coach Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts, aren’t exactly ringing endorsements. Especially in the wake of a matchup against an otherworldly quarterback [Mahomes] and a Chiefs side that is making its third trip to the Super Bowl in the last four years! In short, until proven otherwise, the Chiefs are the team to beat.
- Pick: Chiefs +105
Super Bowl MVP: Patrick Mahomes for Super Bowl MVP
Jim Fuller
These are two of the best offenses in the NFL and expect plenty of big plays. The depth and power of the Eagles should be the difference.
- Pick:
MVP: Jalen Hurts, Eagles
