Tease up Road Teams in Division Matchups

With just four weeks left in the NFL season, we’re getting into “do or die” games for many teams playing divisional matchups in Week 14. While they may not statistically be eliminated with losses, several teams on the cusp of the playoffs will essentially see their postseason hopes evaporate on Sunday.

With the extreme need to win for some teams, they would be good NFL picks to add to our teaser bets in NFL Lines this week.

Week 14 NFL Teaser Picks

Teaser Leg No. 1: Buccaneers +7½ vs Falcons

I won’t sugarcoat this bet online by saying that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a strong team that is worth a look as underdogs to beat or cover the NFL spread against the Atlanta Falcons. While both of those things might happen, I’m not about to risk a unit on Tampa Bay as +1½-point underdogs.

The truth is the Bucs stink and are just 2-8 straight up in their previous 10 games.

However, if we look at the Bucs’ betting record when the NFL lines are teased, they are on a seven-game winning streak and 11-2 on the season. Conversely, the Falcons have only won by more than seven points twice – once against the 1-11 Carolina Panthers and once against the New Orleans Saints.

The last time these teams met, back in October, the Falcons managed to win, but only by three points in a hard-fought battle. With Tampa Bay in must-win mode as it fights tooth and nail to make the playoffs, I don’t expect the Falcons to run away with this game.

Teaser Leg No. 2: Broncos +8½ vs Chargers

The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers meet in Week 14 in another massive divisional battle that essentially eliminates whoever loses from playoff contention. The Broncos are getting points in this critical game, and I’m happy to extend the spread by six to a cool +8½ in my NFL picks.

Also, like the Buccaneers, Denver has been very kind to bettors when its lines are teased, with seven straight wins against adjusted lines. But, unlike the Bucs, I don’t think the Broncos are a “bad” team.

After a terrible 1-5 start to the season, the Broncos went on to win five straight games before losing on Sunday to the Houston Texans 22-17 on the road.

Considering their recent surge, and just one close loss in the previous six weeks, I was surprised to see the line for this game. Russell Wilson is playing some of his best football in years, and the Broncos definitely have the coaching advantage with Sean Payton on the sidelines.

They may be a little worse for the wear regarding injuries, but I’m all in on the Broncos at +8½ in the teased line.

Questions Of The Day

What is a teaser bet?

A teaser is a type of sports betting parlay that allows bettors to adjust the spread for each game on the ticket by a certain number of points. In the NFL, the six-point teaser is the most common.
