Week 13 of the NFL is packed with some great games to bet. A quick look at the betting board and you should see some freebies that the oddsmakers missed. I like the three picks below straight up, but to make things a bit more fun, we’re going to tease them six points. Bet them straight up. Parlay them, if you want. Be sure to tease these three picks to turn good lines into great ones.
Indianapolis Colts (6-5) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (3-8)
Sunday, December 2nd – 1:00pm ET – TIAA Bank Field
Betting Line: Indianapolis -4, Total 47.5
Don’t look now, but Andrew Luck is back! When healthy, Luck is one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the NFL. Andrew Luck led the Indianapolis Colts back from a 24-14 fourth quarter deficit to win 27-24 over the Miami Dolphins.
The Colts are now 6-2 and two games behind the Houston Texans, who have won eight straight to take control of the AFC South.
Andrew Luck has thrown for 3,112 yards and 32 touchdowns this season. He’s thrown for three or more touchdowns in eight straight games. He’s now tied with Peyton Manning for the second-longest streak in NFL history trailing only Tom Brady’s 10-game streak.
The Jaguars had quite an active Monday. They began the day by firing offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. That was quickly followed up by the benching of Blake Bortles in favor of backup Cody Kessler. Running back Leonard Fournette has also been suspended for Sunday’s game for coming off the sideline and fighting with Buffalo’s Shaq Lawson.
Yea…Indianapolis +2 is a winner.
Carolina Panthers (6-5) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-7)
Sunday, December 2nd – 1:00pm ET – Raymond James Stadium
Betting Line: Carolina -3.5, Total 56.5
After starting their season 6-2, the Carolina Panthers have now lost three in a row. What was once a potent offense has put up an average of 22.3 points in their last three games.
The Panthers’ coaching staff is under a lot of pressure to break their dry spell. It’s a good thing they’re heading to Tampa Bay.
The Bucs snapped their own four-game losing streak last week when they defeated the visiting 49ers 27-9. Embattled quarterback Jameis Winston threw for 312 yards and 2 touchdowns on 29 of 38 passing.
Carolina last played the Bucs on November 4th. The Panthers won that game 42-18. That was Carolina’s highest scoring game and biggest win of the season. I don’t expect the rematch to see that many points. That’s why I’m taking Under 62.5 in my six-point teaser.
Jameis Winston can’t be trusted [on or off the field]. Carolina may find their offense against the putrid Tampa Bay D, but I doubt it. There’s too much going awry in Carolina right now.
Minnesota Vikings (6-4-1) vs New England Patriots (8-3)
Sunday, December 2nd – 4:25pm ET – Gillette Stadium
Betting Line: New England -5.5, Total 48.5
The New England Patriots are my Lock of the Week. The Vikings are not as good as some may think they are. They’re yet to beat a team above .500 this season. We’re 13 weeks into the NFL season and the Vikings at 6-4-1 are still unproven.
Tom Brady and the New England offense ran on all cylinders in their first game back from the bye week. They trounced the New York Jets on the road. Tom Brady threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Pats gained 498 yards of total offense. Patriots running back Sony Michel ran for 133 yards and a touchdown. New England racked up a ridiculous 215 yards on the ground in Week 12.
I like New England at -5.5. At +1.5, I love them.
