- L.A. struggles to score under pressure so bet under in this Vikings vs Rams matchup
- Double down with Minnesota for the best NFL parlay picks at the BetUS sportsbook
Minnesota lost its first game last weekend but won’t have to wait long to get back a W. The Vikings visit the Rams in Los Angeles as favorites on Thursday Night Football. The betting lines move toward them even with the NFL news that star receiver Cooper Kupp is returning for L.A. This didn’t sway the public as Minnesota is superior, especially on defense. The Vikings will dominate per our TNF parlay picks for Week 8.

Top 3 Picks to Bet for Vikings vs Rams TNF Parlay
1. Minnesota to Win Outright
The Minnesota Vikings proved it was “legit” by taking the Detroit Lions to the wire. But the Vikings can’t lick their wounds too long as it’s back to business. The Vikings gave Detroit trouble with pressure, leading the NFL in ratio (31%). The Lions fought back thanks to a sturdy offensive line, something the Rams do not have. The first NFL prediction is to add Minnesota’s moneyline to our parlay.
Injuries have whittled down the Rams’ offensive line. Kupp’s return will give Matthew Stafford a reliable pass-catcher, but he may not get many prolific throws as his window for throwing will be shut tight by Minnesota’s pass rush. Minnesota only allows 17.8 points per game and 5.6 net yards per attempt.
The Rams average 5.9 net yards per pass attempt and only have three passing touchdowns. Stafford has thrown more interceptions (four) and is having his worst season in over 12 years. While he’s not on the injury report, Stafford has been through the wringer in his career. This short week can’t favor his old self or other similar Rams.
Minnesota is younger and hungrier. Sam Darnold played a solid game against Detroit, even if he threw an interception. He’s been a man on a mission this season. We’re betting online on Minnesota to win and beat the Rams. The line has shifted from 3 to 3.5, so we’re better off parlaying the moneyline since we can’t overlook Sean McVay’s team pulling another backdoor cover.

2. Vikings Stun the Rams, Back the Under
The Los Angeles Rams face injuries, a short week and a fearsome Vikings defense. The NFL odds are not that good for this team to win or go over their scoring total. Los Angeles has struggled mightily this season. We often think of offensive juggernauts when talking about McVay’s Rams, but Los Angeles has not scored more than 20 points in five of six games.
That’s also partly why the Rams’ games have gone under two of the three times when it had a total of 47 points or more. That one game it went over, the Rams gave up 41 points against Arizona. We won’t be surprised if Minnesota drops 40+ on Los Angeles, even if it’s not the Vikings’ style. The total should go under 48 points.
But the best bet here is to go against Los Angeles’ total. The Rams will find it hard to manufacture points, especially when Stafford is constantly hurried. Kupp and Kyren Williams will account for most of Los Angeles’ offense. This isn’t the NBA. You need more than three players to move the needle in the NFL. Bet under 22.5 points for the Rams in your NFL picks.

3. Double Your Bet on Vikings
The Vikings are like the Dallas Cowboys or San Francisco 49ers at their prime: They are front-runners. Their game plan is to overwhelm opponents with pressure, build a lead and then hold on to it. Darnold has evolved into a solid quarterback and he’ll continue to be one so long as he’s not under pressure to carry the team. Thus, bet Minnesota to win both halves here.

Minnesota is 5-1 on both the moneyline and first-half moneyline. Even against Detroit, the only game it dropped, Minnesota led 10-0 after the first quarter. Don’t bet on the Rams scoring 21 unanswered points in the second quarter. The Vikings won’t be had again.
This will be a trademark win for the Vikings where they go up by two or more touchdowns in the first half. Double down on Minnesota to win both halves for this final NFL expert pick. Minnesota will maintain that lead until the fourth quarter where the Rams may score some garbage points.
