NFL Preseason Week 1
NFL odds have been released for the Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks preseason game on Thursday night.
The offseason is over for another year and now it’s time for the teams to fine-tune their skills before the regular season kicks off.
It’s easy to bet on NFL games, and we’re expecting an action-packed meeting at Seattle’s Lumen Field.
Vikings: Super Bowl Charge Starts Now
It’s only the preseason, but this is when teams like the Minnesota Vikings can get their best players some competitive reps.
Vegas NFL odds have the Vikings at +4½ on the road, so it’s expected to be a close game, and it could all hinge on how much we see Kirk Cousins.
The quarterback is unlikely to play long periods in the first preseason game, but we could see more of Nick Mullens, who isn’t a bad backup.
Cousins knows the Vikings can’t rely on winning close games. Minnesota won 13 games last season – 10 by eight points or fewer.
“Well it’s so uncommon, I mean you really can’t rely on it moving forward,” Cousins said. “I think it’s something that you say, ‘Love it, love that we did it, love the character and resiliency that it took to do that,’ but if you think it’s going to be copy and paste, you’re fooling yourself.”
It will also be interesting to see if standout wide receiver Justin Jefferson plays. He might want some action, so he could link up with the quarterback for a big first-quarter play.
We expect to see money come for the Vikings with NFL spreads. The line could close at 3½, so it could pay to jump on the Vikings.
Lock In with Lock
We expect to see a lot of Drew Lock for the Seattle Seahawks against the Vikings.
The second-string quarterback, behind Geno Smith, appeared in 24 games with the Denver Broncos from 20-19-21. He might not have the complete game like Smith, but he’s good enough to lead the Seahawks to preseason victory.
NFL lines have put faith in Smith, Lock and the Seahawks, who are -195 with moneyline markets.
Life post-Russell Wilson hasn’t been easy, but they’re looking to soldier on with the likes of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett at wide receiver and a plethora of solid running backs, including Kenneth Walker III, who is in doubt for the preseason.
If the Seahawks get off to a fast start, expect to see their live betting odds firm considerably. They will be tough to run down.
Vikings vs Seahawks Head-to-Head
The Vikings won the most recent meeting 30-17 in 2021.
However, the Seahawks won the previous seven meetings, including a 27-26 thriller in 2020.
