Gaudreau had two assists giving him 101 points this season. He is the first Calgary player to record a 100-point season since Theo Fleury during the 1992-93 campaign.

Gaudreau’s parents were in attendance on his special night.

”I’m sure my mom and dad were pretty excited,” Gaudreau said. “They hadn’t been out here in probably three years.”

Noah Hanifin and Andrew Mangiapane also scored for Calgary which has won five games in a row.

Calgary (+400) trails only Colorado in the odds to win the Western Conference title.

Victor Rask, Ryan Donato and Adam Larsson scored for Seattle while Matty Beniers, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, had an assist in his NHL debut.

Kreider became the fourth player in the history of the New York Rangers to score 50 goals in a season but it wasn’t enough as the Carolina Hurricanes moved four points ahead of the Rangers in the Metropolitan Division standings with a 4-2 victory.

Kreider joins Vic Hadfield, Adam Graves and Jaromir Jagr as Rangers with 50 goals in a season although he was in no mood to celebrate after New York squandered the opportunity to move into a tie for first place in the Metropolitan Division.

“It’s hard after a game like that,” Kreider said. ”It’s something I appreciate, it’s just hard to appreciate it right now.”

It’s not every day that a player breaks a record owned by Wayne Gretzky but that is what Draisaitl accomplished.

Draisaitl scored his 21st power-play goal of the season breaking a franchise record previously held by Gretzky and Ryan Smyth. That was the only scoring for the Edmonton Oilers in a 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild.
