The Vegas Golden Knights have just about run out of hope. With two games left in their regular season, the Golden Knights are four points behind the Dallas Stars for the West’s final Wild Card spot. If Vegas doesn’t get two points in each of its final two games or if Dallas gets any points in its final two games, then the Golden Knights will miss the postseason for the first time in franchise history.
So, Vegas’ game on Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks is undeniably a must-win and it’s the most intriguing matchup on a five-game schedule. Let’s run through each game based on the NHL betting lines:
Flyers vs Jets
Even though they don’t have much to play for, both the Philadelphia Flyers and Winnipeg Jets want to end their respective regular seasons on high notes. Philadelphia has a ton of young players — including plenty of rookies — that want to make a positive impression before the offseason while veteran-laden Winnipeg needs to have some optimism entering what could be a summer of change.
The Jets are sizable home favorites and are a good bet to cover the puck line. Winnipeg is the far better team and is coming off an impressive 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche while Philadelphia has dropped seven of nine.
Canadiens vs Rangers
With their loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, the New York Rangers are officially locked into the No. 2 seed in the Metropolitan Division so they can take it easy in their last two regular-season games.
That’s why it’s a good idea to take the Montreal Canadiens straight-up as huge road underdogs on Wednesday. Montreal has lost nine games in a row — all in regulation — but with New York at a rest disadvantage and Rangers backup Alexander Georgiev likely in net, it’s not inconceivable for the Canadiens to snap their skid here.
Golden Knights vs Blackhawks
The Vegas Golden Knights could have turned the tide of the Wild Card race on Tuesday but they lost to the Dallas Stars, the team they’re chasing in the standings, in a shootout. That puts Vegas up against it with the Golden Knights visiting a Chicago Blackhawks team that has lost four of six.
Even with the Golden Knights at a rest disadvantage, Vegas is a comfortable road favorite on the BetUS sportsbook. You should take the Golden Knights in regulation and parlay it with the over because they know how important this game is. Also, Chicago gives up a lot of goals.
Coyotes vs Stars
The Dallas Stars inched closer to clinching a playoff berth with their win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday but, because they couldn’t seal the deal in regulation, the Stars still have more work left to do. All they need is at least one point against the Arizona Coyotes, who beat the Minnesota Wild yesterday to snap a 10-game losing streak.

It helps Dallas that both teams played yesterday and that’s partially why the Stars are such massive home favorites. If you’re betting online, go with the Stars to take care of business and beat the Coyotes by multiple goals as they finally secure their spot in the postseason.
Kings vs Kraken
Thanks to the Dallas Stars’ win yesterday, the Los Angeles Kings — winners of four straight — have clinched at least third place in the Pacific Division. So, they can rest easy during their game against the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday which is critical before a first-round matchup against the uber-talented Edmonton Oilers.
Seattle has lost three consecutive games and while the Kraken aren’t anywhere near a playoff spot, they’d like to end their inaugural season with positive momentum. Los Angeles, even with nothing to play for, is a comfortable road favorite. The Kraken might be the move, however, because of the value and because the Kings might hold key guys out of the lineup.
