Thursday NHL Parlay: Bet the Hot Favorites
The NHL season is long. And while some teams can be counted on to be consistently great, every team goes through winning and losing stretches. That’s the theme for our NHL parlay this Thursday. We find three favorites on solid recent forms worth adding to our NHL odds predictions.

Lightning Blast Past Devils – Lightning (-135)
Tampa Bay is not quite as hot as our other two NHL picks. But the Lightning are starting to hit their stride. They have won four of their last six home games and are facing a team they consistently beat: the Devils.
New Jersey is missing five of its best skaters. As such, it struggles to beat good teams: 2-5 (2-4-1) in its last seven games against opponents with point percentages at 54% or better.
The Lightning, on the other hand, are healthy outside of a pair of injuries. Andrei Vasilevskiy is shaking off the cobwebs and is 5-3-0 at home with a 91.2% save percentage. And even if he’s feeling rusty, he has one of the best offenses to support him.
Tampa Bay is scoring over 3.5 goals per home game. It is putting up nearly 32 shots a game and converting on a whopping 32.8% of its power plays. Their current online sports betting line gives them an implied winning probability of 57.6%. That’s a discount as it should be better than that against the undermanned Devils.

Panthers Roll Past Kings Panthers (-135)
Florida is the second-hottest team in the NHL. The Panthers have won eight straight against opponents like Colorado, Vegas, and the Rangers. The team has also covered five straight puck lines. Its goal differential in this span is +17. And it is a good bet online to keep it going even against a team that’s had its number recently: Los Angeles.
The Kings have lost six straight games. They’re getting lit up having allowed 3+ goals in every game. And on the other end, the Kings are not getting much going with a scoring average of just two goals per game. That won’t get it done against Florida, which is arguably not even playing to its potential.
The Panthers are middling out in terms of 5-on-5 ‘PDO’ at 1.000. Their shooting percentage of 7.6% is the third-worst in the NHL. And yet Florida is winning thanks to sheer effort and skill. Our money is on this team that can outwork other teams even if it needs to put up 40 shots to get the job done.
Jets Light Up Blackhawks – Jets -1½ (-160)
The Jets are the only team hotter than Florida. Winnipeg has won seven straight games and is on a 13-game point streak. If we go back to the start of December, Winnipeg is 15-1-2. And it gets a chance to avenge one of these losses against the Connor Bedard-less Blackhawks.
Winnipeg’s only defeats since December have come against three of the worst NHL teams. Chalk this up to the Jets underestimating these clubs. This is a mistake Winnipeg won’t make again. The Jets are playing some shrewd 5-on-5 hockey and Connor Hellebuyck has looked unbeatable in goal.
The Blackhawks have dropped 10 straight road games and are scoring a measly 2.1 goals as a visitor. That’s not good enough here. So we’re betting online on the Jets to blow the Blackhawks out using the puck line.
