Avalanche of Goals to End When Jets Visit Colorado
It has been an avalanche of goal-scoring between Colorado and Winnipeg. Game 2 did not yield the 13-goal madness that the opener did. But we still got seven goals, which made it four straight meetings that the Avalanche and Jets went over their totals. In these teams’ last nine matchups, the over is 6-1-2 on the NHL betting lines. At least one team scored 4+ goals in each game. And the scoring does not look to end anytime soon as the series moves to Colorado for the next two games.
Jets vs Avalanche Game 3 Information
- Game: Avalanche (51-26-7) vs Jets (53-25-6)
- Date/Time: April 26, 10 p.m. ET
- Location: Ball Arena, Denver, CO
- Jets vs Avalanche Live Stream: NHL.com
The Avalanche average a whopping 4.22 goals every home game this season. That’s the most in the NHL. That’s partly why 53.6% of their home games go over the totals and why they are favorites (-165) for Game 3. As for the Jets, they have been scoring plenty lately. The two goals they scored in Game 2 are the fewest they’ve been held to since before April.

Jets vs Avalanche O/U Pick: Under 6½
If you’ve read our articles before you may be surprised with our pick here. After all, we usually set it up where we write this section in defense of the betting trends. But we’re not. As much as we’d like to see high scoring and 7+ goals again, we can’t get behind it. It was fun seeing Colorado and Winnipeg go back and forth, but it stops now.
Colorado has gotten the better of Winnipeg on 5-on-5 or special teams. And we can’t see Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg’s goaltender, allowing four or more goals again. Hellebuyck had a career .912 save percentage and 2.95 goals-against average against Colorado entering this series. He’s the Vezina Trophy front-runner and we’d be damned if he gets smoked again.
On the other end, Alexandar Georgiev rebounded with a vengeance and stuffed 28 of Winnipeg’s 30 shots. The days of him giving up seven goals look firmly behind him. And given how often Colorado controls the puck, Winnipeg will be hard-pressed to get many scoring chances again.
So the likeliest result we see here is a 4-2 Colorado victory. The betting total should fall just below the 6½ line as Colorado will neutralize Winnipeg’s offense yet again.
Jets vs Avalanche Game Prop Pick: Jets Team Total Goals – Under 2½
Speaking of which, we can’t turn down the sportsbook offer of a +110 line on Winnipeg to score less than three goals. The Jets averaged 4.4 goals in their last 10 games. But they initially averaged just 3.03 before that.
Winnipeg ranked 16th in scoring chances on 5-on-5, 22nd in the power play and 18th in overall shooting percentage. This is not the dynamic offensive team it has looked like over the past three weeks. So we’d rather bet online on their total going under if it means being party poopers.

The total is set at 6½ goals with either over/under at similar odds. It is possible though uncertain.
Which goaltender will make more saves in the Jets-Avalanche game?
The Avalanche have outshot the Jets in both games of the series and are now at home. So expect Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck to have more saves.
