Back Maple Leafs vs Kraken in NHL Bet Predictions

Struggling teams will look to get back on track offensively when the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Seattle Kraken on Thursday. Both teams’ offenses have dropped off recently, resulting in the Kraken losing their last two and Toronto dropping two of its last three. Each will look to find some more scoring in the matchup, but NHL odds and predictions favor the Maple Leafs.

Kraken Continue Fall

Seattle lost its second straight and third in four games after its offense had trouble finding the back of the net yet again.

The Kraken have averaged 2.78 goals a game this season for seventh-worst in the NHL, and minus the seven-goal outlier game against the San Jose Sharks, they have averaged 2.75 goals a game in their last four games.

One of Seattle’s issues offensively continues to be its lack of power-play success, converting 21.9% of its man-advantage opportunities this season. In its last five games, Seattle has gone 1-for-17 on the power play, with its one goal coming in the San Jose win.

The Kraken will hope to find more success against Toronto, but based on their recent games, bettors may want to see how they start before looking at some NHL live betting odds.

Maple Leafs Bounce Back

Toronto put an end to its two-game losing skid with a shootout win over Florida for its fifth win in the last seven games.

Although offense has been the name of the game for the Maple Leafs during most of those wins – they averaged 4.25 goals during a four-game win streak – the Leafs’ defense stepped up in their latest win.

The Panthers’ only score came early in the first period. The Leafs recorded 25 blocked shots while goalie Joseph Woll had 38 saves for a .974 save percentage in the shootout victory.

The Leafs’ offense has been leading them much of the season, but if their defense can continue to step up as well, they should remain a solid NHL betting pick.

Kraken vs Maple Leafs Best Bet

The Maple Leafs will look to build on their latest win against a struggling Kraken team, and with the sportsbook favoring them at home, they should be able to do exactly that.

The Kraken’s offense has been less than impressive lately, and though Toronto’s defense hasn’t been great, it should do enough to keep Seattle from a scoring spree. With Woll also expected to be in net, the Kraken should have an even tougher time scoring.

The Leafs’ offense is also fairly strong and should prove to be a difficult task for Seattle. With two goalies averaging under a .900 save percentage, Toronto should have no issue finding the back of the net to grab another win at home.

NHL Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs (-180)

Could the Maple Leafs win by a blowout?

With the Kraken’s scoring troubles, there’s potential for Toronto to cover the 1 ½ puck line, but with all three of their last wins coming by one score, a blowout seems unlikely.
