Sometimes in life you need to make tough decisions.
Othertimes, the decision is obvious to all.
Such as, say, when deciding how to bet tonight’s Boston Bruins-Columbus Blue Jacket NHL regular season game.
Boston enters the game as the NHL’s second-best team while Columbus’ 16 points is tied for 28th in the league with Ottawa. As one might expect, the poor start to the season has led to discontent. Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine were benched for the third period of the Blue Jackets’ 3-2 loss to Arizona on Nov. 16. Three days later, Laine was a healthy scratch for Columbus’ 5-2 loss to Philadelphia at Wells Fargo Center.
All of which is why Vegas is rolling with the Bruins in NHL odds.
Bruins vs Blue Jackets Best Bets
Despite coming off of a wild 7-4 loss to the New York Rangers Saturday afternoon at Madison Square Garden, the first quarter of Boston’s season has been as positive as could possibly be hoped for.

The Bruins have won 14 of 20 games and have earned points in 17 of 20 games. Boston’s 31 points is tied with the Rangers for most in the NHL, and its .775 points percentage trails only New York’s .816.
To summarize: The Bruins are good.
Whereas Columbus…is not.
The Blue Jackets are coming off a 3-2 loss to Carolina Sunday night, a game in which Columbus had a 2-0 lead 6:41 into the third period, only to surrender three straight goals to the Hurricanes.
The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Blue Jackets. However, prior to the consecutive wins, Columbus had dropped nine-in-a-row.
Not surprisingly, the Blue Jackets are languishing in last place in the Metropolitan Division.
A significant part of Columbus’ woes is a team defense that has allowed 76 goals, which is tied for second-most in the NHL, and an offensive attack whose 62 goals is tied for 12th in the league.
