Bet Bruins To Continue Mastery of Rival Maple Leafs

The Boston Bruins look to extend their winning streak over the Toronto Maple Leafs to nine contests when they play host to Game 2 of the Eastern Conference first-round series as a favorite in the NHL odds on Monday night.

The Bruins were outshot 36-24 in Game 1 but seemed in control through much of the 5-1 victory after rookie John Beecher’s goal 2:26 into the matchup. Jake DeBrusk had two goals and an assist and boasts nine points in five games versus the Leafs.

Jeremy Swayman got the start for Boston in goal, stopping 35 shots, and the question is whether coach Jim Montgomery will continue his normal rotation in goal and start Linus Ullmark for Game 2. Swayman had a .916 save percentage in the regular season and Ullmark .915.

The biggest question for Toronto is whether 98-point scorer William Nylander will be able to suit up for Game 2 after sitting out Saturday with an undisclosed injury. The other issue for the Maple Leafs is keeping the puck out of their net after allowing 27 goals in the last five games.

The Bruins are -250 to win the series in the Las Vegas hockey odds while Toronto is +210.

Bruins 4, Maple Leafs 2: We don’t believe in the Maple Leafs. They would need Matthews, Mitch Marner, Tavares, and others to take control and make Boston score five to win.
