Bet on McDavid, Tkachuk: Oilers Stars Set for Big Game 3 Performance

Connor McDavid is a good bet to have a signature performance when his Edmonton Oilers try to climb back into the series at home against the Florida Panthers in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals on Thursday night.

McDavid had six shots on net in the 3-0 Game 1 loss and assisted on the first goal in Game 2 before the Panthers scored the next four. He has been a constant threat and should be prominent in your NHL betting for Game 3.

Florida won’t always be able to match up its best defenders against McDavid’s line with Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch owning the last change. This will be a major test for the Panthers, who led the league during the regular season in goals-against.

If Florida is able to limit the Oilers, it can be very dangerous on the counter. One player who is due to produce for the Panthers is Matthew Tkachuk.

The Under has done quite well with these teams at the sportsbook, but this might be the game that features more scoring.

Connor McDavid Should Cash a Bet on Assists

The three-time Hart Trophy winner recorded 100 assists this season and has totaled 647 in 645 career regular-season games. The 27-year-old boasts another 73 helpers in 69 playoff contests.

You don’t stop McDavid on a normal day. This is as big a game as he has played in his career and the center is confident the Oilers can make a statement.

You can make some money from a big effort by McDavid on Thursday. You are getting +175 for 2+ assists and +224 for three points in our NHL odds for this one.

McDavid has 27 assists in the playoffs – 13 more than any player on the Panthers. His linemates – Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins – could be the beneficiaries. Nugent-Hopkins has good value for a goal on Thursday (+350).

Find Good Betting Value With Matthew Tkachuk

The feisty wing, who went to prep school with Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum in Missouri, has not posted a point in the last four games for Florida.

However, Tkachuk has not been quiet. The 26-year-old has compiled 15 shots on net and a +4 rating in those four games. He had four shots in Game 2, playing primarily on a line with Sam Bennett and Evan Rodrigues (two goals).

He’s comfortable, healthy, and ready to cash some bets for his backers. The St. Louis native also put up 50 points in 40 road games during the regular season – 38 in 40 at home.

Tkachuk is +200 to score a goal in Game 3, +197 to post a pair of points or more and a juicy +600 to record 2+ assists.

Bet on Defense

Edmonton defenseman Evan Bouchard continues to have a productive playoff on offense with 22 assists and 28 points. He will also want to recover from a rough Game 2 (-1, 2 shots).

You get +260 odds for a pair of assists from the 24-year-old and that might be a good start if you are betting online.

Betting on goaltending was a disappointment in Game 2. The Oilers were all over the Panthers with 32 shots in Game 1, but the Panthers shut them down two days later. Florida goalie Sergei Bobrovsky should face more heat in Edmonton.

The best bet for Bobrovsky may be 30+ saves, which will get you +266 odds. Take him and hope for a high-octane game.

Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner gets you +134 betting online for 28+ saves. Skinner was 23-6-3 at home in the regular season.
