Red-Hot Boston Looking to Extend Streak
Bruins Favored Over Canucks
The red-hot Boston Bruins are making their second stop of a four-rgame tour of the West on Saturday in Vancouver, where they will take on the hapless Canucks at Rogers Arena. The first puck drop is at 7:07 p.m. ET.
The Bruins are riding the momentum of a five-game winning streak, and they’ll be looking to clinch their sixth straight win at the expense of the Canucks. Unsurprisingly, the markets agree, tipping the visitors as the team to beat in the betting.

So, will the Bruins come through as the NHL betting favorites? Or will the hosts deliver one of the biggest surprises of the season? As ever, we’ve got a primer ready complete with NHL odds and NHL predictions for your consideration.
Bruins Nigh-Invincible
The Bruins are on a record-breaking pace to become the winningest team in the NHL since the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens. They lead the league with a 44-8-5 record and 93 points from 57 games. Recent form stands at a respectable 6-3-1 and includes a five-game winning streak.
Most recently, the Bruins defeated the Seattle Kraken 6-5, coming through as the -175 road favorites for their backers.
To the Kraken’s credit, they threw the kitchen sink at the Bruins in an absorbing game that had it all — from sensational goal-scoring, awesome saves, fisticuffs and the occasional sloppiness.
The Bruins were almost instantly on the backfoot after the Kraken scored in the first 40 seconds. Matty Beniers beat backup Jeremy Swayman to give his side the 1-0 lead. But the Bruins came back before the end of the first period to tie the game. The back-and-forth continued in the second period as both sides took turns taking the initiative before settling on a 4-4 tie. The final stanza began with the hosts nudging ahead for the third time in the game, but the Bruins scored twice in the final four minutes to take the win.
Seattle outshot Boston 41-33 and had the advantage on penalties (6 mins to 12 mins). But the Bruins outhit the Kraken 18-17 and won 35 of 58 faceoffs.

Canucks Rally in OT
The Canucks are 23-30-5 with 51 points from 58 games. As it is, they’re sixth in the Pacific Division standings, but 15 points behind the fifth-place Calgary Flames. Recent form is a so-so 4-4-2 from their last 10 games and includes four defeats in their last six.
Most recently, the Canucks launched a third-period rally to beat the St. Louis Blues in overtime, erasing a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2.
J.T. Miller got Vancouver on the board with a shorthanded goal at 9:08 of the third period. Then, Miller got an assist on Andrei Kuzmenko’s game-tying goal in the dying seconds of the game (19:37). Elias Pettersson scored the game-winner at 4:45 of overtime to give the Canucks maximum points.

Bruins vs Canucks Game Injuries
Bruins vs Canucks Head-to-Head
The Bruins are 5-3-2 versus the Canucks in their last 10 meetings, a run of form that includes a 1-0 record on the 2022-23 NHL season. The Bruins defeated the Canucks 5-2 on Nov. 13, coming through as the firm -225 home favorites in betting online markets.
Vancouver is 5-5-0 versus Boston in the last 10 games while the total has gone over in six of those 10 meetings. The Canucks last beat the Bruins 2-1 on Dec. 8, 2021.

Bruins vs Canucks Picks and Prediction
At the face of it, this is a total mismatch in every sense between two teams that are headed in opposite directions. The Canucks have nothing on the Bruins in terms of talent, quality and depth. That means there is really only one logical outcome here, surely. Well, at least in theory.
Betting the Bruins to win outright on the moneyline offers little value (see below breakdown). NHL fans will be better served by turning to the puck line or the total for their NHL picks.
The Bruins tipped at -1½ and juiced to +110 offering attractive value for handicap bettors. Alternatively, the over 6½ (-110) is a worthwhile option, given the Bruins’ offensive prowess and penchant for blowouts against lesser opposition.
For those looking to back the moneyline, the NHL betting markets corner this game with the visitors wholeheartedly.
Boston is listed at -240 in our Vegas lines. So, if you wager $100 on the Bruins, there’s a chance to win $42. Vancouver is +200, with a chance to win $200 on a $100 wager.
The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives Boston a 70.59% chance to win, with the Canucks at 33.33%.
