Stanley Cup Champs in Central Title Chase

Teams Get Set For Home-And-Home

The Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche haven’t looked like the top dogs for much of the season. However, they have some momentum right now. In case you haven’t followed the NHL news, they are now 13-4-1 in their last 18 games.

They’re now set for a home-and-home with one of the worst teams in the NHL, the Arizona Coyotes. The Avs will be favored in both games but are they a good bet to come out on top?

Arizona Still Has Fight

The season hasn’t exactly gone according to plan for the Arizona Coyotes. They’re 27-33-12 on the season and are not in the playoff picture. However, those who bet online have seen them be competitive of late.

They’re 6-1-3 in their last 10 games, which goes to show that they’re playing their opponents very tight.

In net, expect to see either Karel Vejmelka or Connor Ingram. Vejmelka is likely to get another nod after getting a rest in their last game. He’s 18-20-5 with a 3.33 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage.

As for Ingram, he has a 6-13-7 record, a 3.39 GAA and a .907 save percentage. If it is Ingram, downgrade the Coyotes in the sportsbook. The team has lost five of his last six starts.

Avalanche Rising as Playoffs Approach

The Colorado Avalanche haven’t been the talk of the league despite winning it all last season. However, they have a lot of momentum right now and might be building for a playoff push.

Nathan MacKinnon is really starting to ramp up his scoring efforts, racking up a team-high 90 points across the span of only 59 games played. He now has 19 points in 12 games this month.

Mikko Rantanen has helped out with that offensive production by adding 85 points of his own in 70 games. He has 14 points in March.

In net, Alexandar Georgiev is 32-15-5 with a 2.56 GAA and a .919 save percentage. If you’re making your NHL picks, note that he’s allowed just six goals in his last four starts. The team has won five of the last six times he’s been in net.

Coyotes vs Avalanche Picks and Prediction

The Coyotes look like they could give the Avalanche a good battle, but they just don’t seem to be ready to beat them here on the road. Colorado has a stellar goalie with two star offensive skaters in MacKinnon and Rantanen. That’s why the Avs are favored on the NHL lines.

They also have a lot of momentum right now. Look for the Avs to keep it rolling, so take them with your sports bets.

Colorado is listed at -500 in our Vegas NHL lines. So, if you wager $100 on the Avalanche, there’s a chance to win $20. Arizona is +400 with a chance to win $400 on a $100 wager.
