Flames Lose Two in Row
The Calgary Flames started so brightly, but now they are reeling after back-to-back losses to the Edmonton Oilers and falling into a 2-1 hole.
Few would have predicted the Flames falling behind after Game 1. Calgary was dominant in its victory over the Oilers, handing their provincial rivals a 9-6 defeat.
The Oilers, to their credit, bounced back admirably in Game 2 to level the series 1-1. They beat the Flames 5-3, coming from 2-0 down to clinch the victory against the odds.
Sunday night’s contest was the first time in this series that the Flames looked to be out of sorts. They fell behind early and couldn’t find a way back. The Oilers outskated, outshot and outwitted the Flames in almost every aspect of the game.
If the Calgary Flames are to get back into this series, they have to play a whole lot betting on Tuesday night.

Oilers Flip Script
The Edmonton Oilers went into this Western Conference semifinal series as the distinct underdogs, but three games into it and they’ve flipped the script entirely.
The Oilers opened as the +170 underdogs to win the series and advance into the Western Conference final at the expense of the Calgary Flames. As per the oddsmakers, the Pacific Division champions were the team to beat, installed as the -200 favorites.
The first game of this series seemed to underscore this market outlook as the Flames edged the Oilers in a 15-goal thriller. On the heels of that convincing opener, the Flames saw their odds improve across the board. NHL series prices moved the Flames from -200 to -400. At the same time, the Oilers went from +170 to +320.
The Oilers set the record straight in Game 2, clinching the 5-3 win to level the series. Once again, this prompted a market reassessment as the Flames dropped down to -160 and the Oilers to +140.
Now, with the series on the precipice of Game 4, the tables have turned across betting online markets. The Oilers are now the favorites at -180 while the Flames are the underdogs at +160. That’s quite the remarkable turnaround, but whether the Oilers come through is another matter.

Flames vs Oilers Prediction
The Edmonton Oilers are the newly minted favorites to win this series and winning Game 4 will go a long way to cementing their favorable odds.
Interestingly, though, the latest NHL betting markets aren’t quite so conclusive as the Calgary Flames are tipped on Evens to win Game 4.
Clearly, oddsmakers aren’t writing off the Pacific Division champions just yet, even if they look to be on the ropes and faced with a must-win game.
To be fair, both sides will be motivated to win. The Flames must win if they hope to stay alive. The Oilers will be looking to take this series by the scruff of its neck before it heads back to the Saddledome.
Predictably, early betting trends are split down the middle between this pair with bettors backing both sides to the victory. The only consensus bet would appear to be the over with more than 60 percent of bettors backing a high-scoring game that will crack the 6½-goal tally.
Pick: Calgary Flames (Ev)
Pick: Over 6½ (-110)
