Flames Cruising on Offense
The Calgary Flames come into Tuesday night averaging 3.6 goals per game on the year, and they have been lighting it up of late. At 9-1, or +900, the Flames are third-choice to win the championship, according to Stanley Cup odds.
Predators Have a Problem Defending
After surrendering eight goals in that holiday game against St. Louis, coach John Hynes wasn’t pleased. “We got embarrassed in the second period and we gave up way too much,” he said,
The Predators are allowing just under three per game this season, and that continues to be the biggest issue with this team. Nashville’s problems seem to be at even strength, as the Preds’ special teams have played rather well.
Defenseman Roman Josi (20 goals, 68 assists, 88 points) powers an offense that also includes certified goal scorers in Matt Duchene (38) and Filip Forsberg (37).
Flames vs Predators Head-to-Head
The second of three meetings this season, with the teams seeing one another again next Tuesday in Tennessee. A tight first meeting saw Nashville come away with a 3-2 overtime win in November.

Flames vs Predators Prediction
Both of these teams are able to score, but Calgary is clearly the better defensive team. Calgary has the ability to play fast while on offense, but still, get the stops on the other end of the ice.
Nashville continues to shoot itself in the foot by not getting defensive stops (see Sunday against the Blues). The Predators also have their share of offensive weapons, but defensively they’ve been a bit too fast and loose.
There won’t be much separation in this game, but Calgary is going to get the goal that matters. Head to NHL picks and take the Calgary Flames at -125 over the Nashville Predators.
