Dallas To Get Captain Jamie Benn Back For Game 6
It wasn’t too long ago when the Vegas Golden Knights were looking to make NHL news and wrap up a four-game sweep and join the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals. Now, the Golden Knights are entering a dangerous zone after Dallas won back-to-back games.
Dallas looks to use home-ice advantage in Game 6 to force the series to a winner-take-all Game 7.
After being short-handed eight times when Vegas won Games 3 and 4, the Stars have been more disciplined with the Golden Knights having two power-play opportunities over the last two games. Their quest to stay with that script will factor into the NHL predictions.
Vegas was third among Western Conference teams with 27 road wins during the regular season.
The team credited with more hits has won four of the first five games in the series.
Vegas came into the series without goalies Robin Lehner and Logan Thompson and now have had to turn to Adin Hill following a lower-body injury to Laurent Brossoit. The Stars will get captain Jamie Benn back for Game 6. Benn served his two-game suspension for cross-checking Mark Stone. Fellow Dallas forward Evgenii Dadonov is questionable for Monday’s game.
According to the NHL playoff odds, Vegas is priced at +130 in the odds to win the Stanley Cup title. Dallas’ championship odds are currently at +550.
It would be close to a toss-up if the series heads back to Vegas for Game 7 with Vegas priced at +225 and Dallas at +250 to win the series in seven games.
Trying to Seal The Deal
Vegas twice held one-goal leads in both Games 4 and 5 but couldn’t deliver the knockout punch. Jason Robertson had goals in the first and second periods after the Golden Knights took the lead early in both periods to set the stage for Joe Pavelski’s overtime goal in Game 4.
It was more of the same for Vegas in Game 5 as none of the Vegas forwards had more than three shots on goal. Jack Eichel matched his playoff high with seven shots in Game 4 and he will look for more of the same
Jonathan Marchessault had 34 shots on goal in six games against Edmonton. His number has dropped to 14 shots in the first five games of this series.
The Las Vegas odds total has gone under in four of the last five road games for the Golden Knights.
Youth Being Served
With the season on the line, it was some of the Stars’ youngest players who rose to the occasion.
The 22-year-old Ty Dellandrea had no goals and no assists over his last eight games before scoring twice in the third period in the Game 5 win.

The 20-year-old Wyatt Johnston was tied for the team lead with five shots on goal while Jason Robertson has five goals and one assist over the last five games.
With Benn coming back into the lineup, there could be a chance for more production from some of the veteran players going into Game 6.
Eight of the last 12 games played by Dallas finished over the NHL betting lines total.
Golden Knights vs Stars Head-to-Head
The road team has won four of the last eight meetings between Dallas and Vegas. This is the 13th consecutive game in the series when the home team is favored.
Twelve of the last 16 games played between the Stars and Golden Knights have been decided by one goal.
Robertson leads Dallas with five goals in the series with Johnston topping all players with 20 shots on goal. For Vegas, Marchessault has three goals and three assists with Ivan Barbashev, acquired at the trade deadline from St. Louis, adding two goals and three assists. Keep that in mind when looking at the live betting odds.
