The Avalanche have the fourth-best points percentage in the NHL since the start of March while Winnipeg, which has secured one of two wild cards in the Western Conference, is just 18th.

Colorado is second on the power play during that stretch with Winnipeg coming in 29th, so keep that in mind when making NHL picks.

When looking at some of the NHL news, winger Nikolaj Ehlers is questionable for Winnipeg while fellow forwards Sam Gagner and Cole Perfetti are out.

For Colorado, forward Artturi Lehkonen is close to returning while defensemen Cale Makar and Josh Manson as well as forward Darren Helm are out.

According to the NHL playoff odds, the Avalanche (+700) are tied for second in the odds to win the Stanley Cup title. The Jets (+5000) are tied for 15th in the championship odds.

Morrissey Finishing Strong

Winnipeg defenseman Josh Morrissey ended March by being held without a point in five straight games and posting a defensive rating of -4.

It has been a different story in April as he has points in four of the five games. During Winnipeg’s current three-game winning streak, he has had a hand in five of the 11 goals. He has a goal and six assists in five games played in April. San Jose’s Erik Karlsson and Brandon Montour of Florida are the only defensemen with more points in the month.

Morrissey is +6 in the five games and is tied for the most even-strength points among defenseman as he has led Winnipeg’s push into the playoffs.

Ten of Winnipeg’s last 13 games went under the NHL betting lines total and so have the last six road games.

Dynamic Duo Leads Colorado

It has been a little bit of all-or-nothing for Colorado’s duo of Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.

MacKinnon has four multi-point games in April. However, dating back to the final game that Colorado played in March, he has been held without a goal or an assist in three of the last seven games. Colorado has lost two of those games.

Rantanen has been held scoreless in those same three contests with Colorado scoring seven goals in the three games compared to 20 goals scored in the other four games.

MacKinnon is at 107 points despite missing 11 games and Rantanen has a career-high 54 goals after never scoring more than 36 coming into this season.

The Las Vegas odds total has gone over in five of the last six games played by the Blues.
