Kings Good Bet To Break Through Versus Road-Weary Avalanche

The Los Angeles Kings will have good value in the NHL ATS picks when they play host to the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday night.

The KIngs had won five straight contests, allowing a total of five goals, before suffering a 2-1 setback against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday. But Los Angeles should be well rested for Sunday’s battle, while Colorado is playing its third game in four nights.

Kings Good Bet To Break Through Versus Road-Weary Avalanche

The Avalanche have points in 9 of the last 10 games (7-1-2), but suffered an overtime loss at Arizona on Thursday and blew a 3-1 lead in a 4-3 shootout setback at Anaheim on Saturday. The Avs had won 13 straight games in California.

This is the second time Colorado has played a back-to-back and it won the other at Calgary 3-1 on Nov. 25. The Avalanche were a winner in 11 of the last 13 versus the Kings, including the 5-2 triumph on Oct. 11. The road team has won four straight and six of seven in the series.

Colorado is co-favorite to win the Western Conference at +375 in the Vegas hockey odds while Los Angeles is +700.

Avalanche Bettors Love Playing In LA

Colorado has won six consecutive contests in Los Angeles and that will make the Avalanche a strong underdog selection for many in their  NHL picks for Dec. 3.

Norris Trophy frontrunner Cale Makar (34 points) leads Colorado, which is 7-4-2 on the road after a 1-1-2 stretch. The Avalanche are fourth in the league in scoring and 16th in save percentage, although goalie Alexandar Georgiev tops the NHL in wins (13).

Backup Ivan Prosvetov played Saturday, which should give the net back to Georgiev, who is 3-0-1 in his last four decisions. The Russian is 2-2-1 all time versus the Kings after stopping 34 of 36 shots in the season opener.

Nathan MacKinnon boasts a seven-game point streak for the Avs and is tied for second on the team with Mikko Rantanen at 30 each. Valeri Nichushkin (10) is second behind Rantanen (12) in goals.

Colorado has not been a great bet at 13-10 ATS, but it owns a power-play goal in 9 of the last 10 games. The over is 7-1, according to NHL lines, in the last eight Avalanche games against a team with a winning record.

Kings Keeping Under Bettors Well Paid

Los Angeles have not been dominant at home (4-4-3), but under bettors are 5-0-1 in the last six games at Crypto.com Arena.

In fact, the under is 10-1-1 in the Kings’ last 12 games overall at the sportsbook. Los Angeles leads the league in goals for (3.85) and is second in goals-against (2.35).

Forward Arthur Kaliyev had the only goal in the loss to Washington and boasts a three-game point streak. Cam Talbot gave up two goals or less for the eighth time in nine starts.

Adrian Kempe and Kevin Fiala lead a balanced offense with 20 points each while fellow forwards Trevor Moore (11 goals) and Anze Kopitar have 19 each. Former second overall draft pick Quinton Byfeild has 16 and an impressive +11 rating for a 21-year-old.

Talbot had one of his worst games statistically versus Colorado on opening night, allowing four goals on 36 shots. He is 7-7-0 all time versus the Avalanche with an .898 SP, if you bet online.
