Seattle Possibly Without Grubauer
In case you missed the NHL news, the Kraken might be without lead goaltender Philipp Grubauer in this one. He left the team’s latest affair against the Edmonton Oilers, but the good news is it’s more illness than injury.
Martin Jones has been capable in the crease for Seattle this season, but March hasn’t been kind to him. He’s currently 0-2-0 in March with an ugly 5.70 goals-against average and a .807 save percentage.
If you bet online, note that his downtrend started in February where he was 1-3-0 with a 3.73 GAA and a .861 save percentage. The team has dropped six of his last eight starts, so if he’s in net, you might be better off avoiding the Kraken with your NHL pick.
Stars Looking for Third Straight Against Kraken
The Dallas Stars will aim for a third straight victory against the Kraken on Tuesday and if their offense performs the same way, they’ll likely come away with a win. The Stars scored nine goals in the two meetings last week.
The team is backstopped by Jake Oettinger, who is 30-10-10 with a 2.46 GAA and a .918 save percentage.
However, the team has mostly won in spite of him more than because of him of late. If you are placing your sports bets here, know that he has an .895 save percentage this month.
Oettinger’s allowed at least three goals in six of his last seven games. He’s not playing particularly well. The good news here is that Seattle doesn’t look rock-solid in net, either.
