Bruins Seek to Extend Record Streak
The Boston Bruins have set an NHL record by opening a season with 12 wins in a row at home and will look to make it a lucky 13. The Tampa Bay Lightning had won seven games in a row at TD Garden before Boston’s 3-2 win in March so the run of success at home could be in jeopardy.
Things didn’t go very well the first time this season when Tampa Bay had games on consecutive days. After winning at Columbus on Oct. 14, the Lightning headed to Pittsburgh and allowed four goals in the third period in a 6-2 loss.
The Lightning are fourth and the Bruins fifth in goals per game during the month of November. The Bruins rank second and the Lightning fourth in success rate on the power play during that time so both goalies could be tested in this matchup.
Fresh off a three-assist performance, Tampa Bay winger Nikita Zucherov is third in the NHL with 22 points during the month. All three of the assists came on the power play in the win over Buffalo. David Pastrnak (15 points) and Brad Marchand (14 points) are the Bruins’ top point producers in November.
According to the NHL playoff odds, the Bruins (+600) are second to defending champion Colorado in the odds to win the Stanley Cup championship. Tampa Bay is tied for fifth at +1400.

Lightning Striking on Power Play
Take penalties at your own risk against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Tampa Bay has scored at least one power-play goal in each of its last seven games and are 11 of 25 with the man advantage. Kucherov leads the NHL with nine power-play points (three goals, six assists) since that streak began on Nov. 13. Defenseman Mikhail Sergachev is tied for second with seven points. Ironically, the player he is tied with is Boston’s Pastrnak, a player he figures to see plenty of on Tuesday night.
Tampa Bay struck for three goals on four power-play opportunities in a wild 6-5 affair against Buffalo on Monday.
There have been 26 goals scored (14 by Tampa Bay) in the last three games and all three went over the Las Vegas odds total. Nine of Tampa Bay’s last 13 games finished over the total.

Bruins Getting Healthy
With star winger Brad Marchand and defenseman Charlie McAvoy starting the season on the injured list, it has been a struggle for the Boston Bruins to have their entire team available to play.
Defenseman Derek Forbort (finger) is close to returning after missing the last 11 games and winger Trent Frederic (shoulder) took part in practice on Monday and could play on Tuesday. Frederic was sidelined for the last two contests. The lone regular likely to be out is winger Craig Smith, whose role has diminished this season even when he was healthy.
The biggest news is that goalie Linus Ullmark returned to practice.
📰 Monday’s Practice Rundown:
▪️ Ullmark returns to practice
▪️ Frederic could play vs. Bolts
▪️ Forbort getting closer, too
▪️ Smith out for Tampa gamehttps://t.co/CfZp6Z9GW4— Boston Bruins (@NHLBruins) November 28, 2022
Ullmark left the last game against Carolina with an upper-body injury. He leads the NHL with 13 wins and his save percentage of .935 is the best for goalies to appear in at least 10 games this season. He is expected to get the start against Tampa Bay.
The NHL betting lines total has gone over in four of Boston’s last six games.

Lightning vs Bruins Head-to-Head
This is the second meeting of the season between the teams who have combined for six Stanley Cup Finals appearances in the last 10 seasons.
Nick Foligno and Pastrnak had power-play goals and Patrice Bergeron scored his 1,000th career point with the primary assist on a Brad Marchand goal as the visiting Bruins won 5-3 on Nov. 21. It was the fourth straight win for the Bruins in the series, with three of those victories coming on the road.
Tampa Bay had won 16 of the previous 19 meetings before the Bruins have recently reversed the trend. That included a pair of playoff series wins for the Lightning.
Five of the last seven games in the series finished under the total.
Pastrnak has 10 goals and seven assists in his last 11 regular-season games against Tampa Bay. The Lightning’s Steven Stamkos has seven goals and four assists against the Bruins during that stretch.

Lightning vs Bruins Betting Lines
Lightning vs Bruins Picks & Prediction
The Bruins not only have the best record in the NHL, but also the best mark (16-5) against the spread. Boston has covered in nine of its first 12 home games while Tampa Bay is just 3-7 against the NHL betting lines on the road.
Tampa Bay will continue to be without center Anthony Cirelli. However, he could make his season debut this weekend. He would have seen plenty of ice time against the Bergeron line so others will need to take on that role for perhaps just the next two games. Boston is not only perfect at home, the Bruins are tied for the most goals per game on home ice (48 goals in 12 games) and have given up the fewest goals per game (1.67).
Tampa Bay is in the middle of the pack in both goals scored (3.1) and goals allowed (3.4) on the road. Still, this is feeling like a back-and-forth affair even with Tampa Bay needing overtime in Monday’s win.
Boston is listed at -165 in our Vegas NHL lines. This means that if you wager $100 on the Bruins, you have a chance to win $61. Tampa Bay is +145, offering a chance to win $145 on a $100 wager.
The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives the Bruins a 62.26% chance to win, with the Lightning at 40.82%.
