The Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers will battle for the second time this season when they meet Wednesday night. The Hurricanes took the first meeting in a 6-3 win. However, since then, Edmonton has gone on a four-game win streak, while Carolina has won three of its last five. Our NHL odds predict a tight game, but the Oilers get the slight edge at home.
Hurricanes Drop Another
Carolina lost its second in three games against the Winnipeg Jets after its offense failed to live up to expectations.
Although the Hurricanes are eighth in the league averaging 3.38 goals a game and averaged 3.8 goals in their five games prior to their most recent loss, they scored just once against the Jets.
Carolina outshot Winnipeg 43-22 in the loss, however, it couldn’t connect on much of its shots, as the Jets had 18 blocked shots in their win, while the Hurricanes also went 0-for-3 on the power-play in the game.
The Hurricanes will try to get back in their offensive flow against Edmonton, but with its road trip continuing, bettors may want to wait and see if their offense can start stronger before looking at some NHL live betting odds.
Edmonton Stays on Top
The Oilers continued their winning ways by downing Winnipeg following another strong offensive game.
Edmonton didn’t get its season off to the hottest start, averaging 3.32 goals a game, but it has continued to turn things around, averaging 4.8 goals a game in its last five.
The Oilers were especially efficient on their power play during their four-game win streak, going 7-of-15 with the extra man, while center Connor McDavid has been impactful recently, scoring three or more points in three of their past four games.

Edmonton will look to keep its offensive success going against Carolina, and if it can continue to play as it has, it should be a good hockey bet today against the Hurricanes.
Hurricanes vs Oilers Betting Lines
Hurricanes vs Oilers Best Bet
Despite the Hurricanes defeating the Oilers 6-3 in their first meeting, the rematch should be a little tighter, with our sportsbook only slightly favoring Edmonton at home. With the Oilers at home and riding momentum from their recent success, they should be able to pick up the victory.
Although Carolina’s offense has been a bit inconsistent and hard to pin down, its goalies have struggled, ranking last in the NHL with a .876 save percentage, and Edmonton’s offense should be able to find some scoring opportunities.
