Maple Leafs vs. Golden Knights Game Preview, Stream, Odds, Picks & Predictions
An inter-conference feature pits two of the NHL’s most promising Stanley Cup contenders: the Toronto Maple Leafs invade the Vegas Golden Knights as slight favorites on the NHL betting odds.
The lines swing this way thanks to a plethora of absences on Vegas’s end per the latest news, stats, and injury reports but it is something Vegas has been used to…
Toronto Maple Leafs vs Vegas Golden Knights Betting Guide
Throwing Everything at Vegas
The Golden Knights looked nigh unbeatable there… for about three days. Now, Max Pacioretty is out again along with Nicolas Hague and potentially Laurent Brossoit in net. Vegas has weathered the storm of injuries for most of the season but they have dropped three of their last four games.
Vegas’s main issues lie in their defense. The pace at which Vegas plays allows plenty of teams to create plenty of scoring chances against them. In fact, Vegas is in the bottom five of the NHL in allowing scoring chances.
Robin Lehner has been solid but Vegas also ranks below league average in even-strength save percent and scoring chance save percent.
Subpar special teams play further limits Vegas’s ceiling. But this is still the best 5v5 team offensively hence why Vegas is fifth overall in goals scored per game and why it’s +19 in goal differential despite the unflattering metrics.
Toronto Will Not Be Denied
Toronto suffered a heartbreaker against Colorado but it proved that it can hang around with the “big boys” of the league. The Leafs went up 4-1 against Colorado but couldn’t quite hang on as the Avalanche took over in the final half of the game.
Colorado outshot Toronto 49 to 27 but the corsi was pretty even during close game situations. Despite the loss, Toronto scored four goals on Colorado and extended their streak to five games of scoring at least four goals. The Leafs remain one of the NHL’s most potent offenses regardless of situation.
But Jack Campbell remains the team’s MVP. He had a save percent below 90% against Colorado, but his ability to stand on his head is what makes Toronto worth a bet online as consistent favorites.

Maple Leafs vs Golden Knights Prediction
The last time the teams played, Toronto got the monkey off its back by scoring four goals on Vegas. This was a period when the Leafs were scoring two goals or fewer despite leading the league in shots and scoring chances. The Golden Knights are a good matchup for them.
Toronto is just one of six teams Vegas has a point percentage under .500 against. The Leafs’ combo of explosive scoring and clutch goaltending is kryptonite to the Knights, especially when their best scorer is missing. Toronto will Vegas again.
Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs -120
Two of the NHL’s most aggressive offenses meet and you’re telling me that the sportsbook is leaning on this one going under six goals? Maybe either Campbell or Lehner put up an award-winning performance, but there will be too many scoring chances to turn away.
