- The Capitals’ Alexander Ovechkin is among the player prop options on Wednesday.
- Take Colorado as the home favorite.
- Check the latest NHL odds for Wednesday’s five games at the BetUS Sportsbook.
The NHL has only five games slated for Wednesday so that limits the NHL betting options. The best game could be the matchup between the 9-6-2 Toronto Maple Leafs and the 10-4-0 Washington Capitals.
Future Hall of Famers Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby will both be in action. Crosby and Ovechkin each had goals on Oct. 31 and Nov. 2. Will it happen again? They could be popular NHL player prop picks for Nov. 13.
The Vegas Golden Knights (-205) are the heaviest favorite when looking at the NHL lines on the night when the road team is favored in two of the five games.
Let’s look at my best NHL bets for Wednesday.
3 Ways to Bet on Wednesday Night’s NHL Games
1. The Great Eight Only Needs to Net One
In a perfect world, the matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals would feature Alexander Ovechkin, the player chasing down what once seemed impossible – Wayne Gretzky’s career goal-scoring record in the NHL and Auston Matthews, a player that some believe will ultimately own that mark. However, a quick look at the NHL injury report shows that Matthews has missed Toronto’s last four games.
Ovechkin looks pretty healthy these days as he is tied with Connor McMichael for the team lead with 10 goals for the Capitals after scoring twice in Saturday’s 8-1 win over St. Louis.
Ovechkin has 863 goals in 1,440 regular-season games. Gretzky had 894 goals in 1,487 games. With 10 goals in his first 14 games, Ovechkin could break the record later this season.

The Capitals recently traded for a familiar face as Lars Eller is back with the Capitals after playing for the franchise for seven seasons.
When looking at the Capitals vs Maple Leafs betting trends, only two of the last seven meetings between the Capitals and the Maple Leafs finished over the total. The Maple Leafs will look for a better effort after being outshot 41-27 in a 3-0 home loss to Ottawa on Tuesday. Can they keep Ovechkin from getting closer to the Great One’s record?

2. The surging Avalanche Could Win Again
It was a slow start to the season for the Colorado Avalanche. However, Colorado is starting to resemble the team listed by the NHL odds as one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup.
Colorado has won three of its last four games. The lone loss came to the NHL-leading Winnipeg Jets with the Avalanche losing 1-0 despite outshooting the Jets 35-28.
Nathan MacKinnon has led the way with two goals and 10 assists in five games in November. Colorado is at home against the Los Angeles Kings.

The Kings have just one regulation loss at home this season. However, they are just 5-4-2 on the road so when making NHL predictions, go with the Avalanche to keep on winning.

3. Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon Part of NHL Parlay Picks
Utah is back home after picking up just three out of a possible eight points on a four-game road trip. Utah was shut out twice in those four games. But in the other two matchups, Logan Cooley had a goal and two assists so we like the +146 sports betting odds for Cooley to have 1+ points against the visiting Hurricanes.
Speaking of the Carolina Hurricanes, they have won five of their last six road games. Jesperi Kotkaniemi often gets overshadowed by some of his fellow Carolina forwards but he has seven points and a +4 plus/minus rating in eight road games so take a look at the +136 odds for him to have 1+ points.
Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon leads the NHL in the scoring thanks to 23 of his 30 points coming on assists. However, he does have 12 shots on goal in the last two games so go with MacKinnon at +110 to score a goal against the visiting Los Angeles Kings to complete the Nov. 13 NHL parlay.
Bet This Parlay: Cooley and Kotkaniemi 1+ Pts, and MacKinnon 1+ Goals (+1100
