Edmonton, coming off a run to the Stanley Cup Final, has stumbled out of the gate as the Oilers have already lost four games by at least three goals.
McDavid is tied for the team lead for the Oilers with 10 points. More eyes than normal will turn to Leon Draisaitl, the team leader with six goals, to lead the way while McDavid is sidelined.
Zach Hyman, coming off a 54-goal season, has been pretty invisible with no goals and one assist in his first 10 games.
