All four division leaders will be in action as part of the 12-game NHL schedule on Thursday. The 12-1 Winnipeg Jets welcome Colorado to town. Later on Thursday, the 6-2-3 Vancouver Canucks meet up with the 8-3-3 Los Angeles Kings.
The Dallas Wings (-330) and the New Jersey Devils (-315) are the heaviest favorites when looking at the NHL betting trends. However, there are plenty of prop picks and game odds to consider.
Keep an eye on the availability of high-scoring Colorado defenseman Cale Makar when checking out the NHL injury report.
Let’s look at my NHL picks for Thursday.
3 Ways to Bet on Thursday Night’s NHL Games
1. Michkov, Stankoven Lead the Rookie Brigade
The big news when it comes to the NHL rookie class was that Macklin Celebrini, the top pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, returned for the San Jose Sharks after missing 12 games. He has some work to do to move up in the rookie scoring race.
There are seven rookies with at least five points this season and all of them are slated to hit the ice on Thursday.
Logan Stankoven displayed his potential with 14 points in 24 games last season and eight more in 19 playoff games. He has a goal and nine assists in 11 games for the Dallas Stars heading into the matchup with reigning rookie of the year Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Matvei Michkov had gone four games in a row without a point before having an assist in Philadelphia’s loss to Carolina on Tuesday. He has four goals and six assists as he is tied with Stankoven for the scoring lead among rookies. Philadelphia is priced at +175 as the road underdog against Tampa Bay.
Maxim Tsyplakov (eight points in 13 games) for the New York Islanders, Montreal defenseman Lane Hutson (seven assists), Carolina winger Jackson Blake (four goals in 11 games), and the Colorado duo of Nikolai Kovalenko and Ivan Ivan are other rookies who could be popular NHL player prop picks.
Bet on Logan Stankoven to have 1+ Assists (+150)
2. A Wild Betting Swing For Minnesota
Speaking of Celebrini, he will be a headliner when the Sharks welcome the Minnesota Wild to town. San Jose began the season 0-7-2 but since losing 7-3 on the road to Vegas, the Sharks are 3-1-1. The Sharks are one of the better-performing teams against the NHL puck line at home with the Sharks covering in five of seven home games.
Minnesota has a bit of a split personality when looking at the betting results for the Wild. Minnesota has covered in just one of five home games but is 6-1 against the puck line on the road.
This will be the 23rd consecutive game in which San Jose is listed as the underdog by the BetUS sportsbook odds. Minnesota has won its last four games against San Jose and has -255 odds to make it five wins in a row.
While San Jose is playing better, it is hard to pick against Kirill Kaprizov and the visiting Wild.
Bet on Minnesota to win outright (-255)
3. Avalanche’s Mikko Rantanen Part of Tuesday’s NHL Parlay Picks
The Florida Panthers go for their sixth win in a row after taking both games from the Dallas Stars in the NHL Global Series in Finland. It was quite the homecoming for young forward Anton Lundell, one of four players from Finland on the roster for the Panthers.
“I saw my grandpa after my goal…it was a pretty special moment.”

Lundell scored in the first of the two games. He has two goals and three assists in the five-game winning streak and offers good value at +106 to have a point in the road matchup against Nashville.
Elias Lindholm of the Boston Bruins was a four-time 20-goal scorer in his six seasons with the Calgary Flames. He will play his former team on Thursday.
Lindholm had a point in each of his two games versus Calgary last season when he was a member of the Vancouver Canucks so consider the -152 odds for Lindholm to have a point.
One of the more intriguing games will come when Colorado plays at Winnipeg with the Jets leading the NHL with a 12-1 record, but Colorado is one of the top picks to win the Stanley Cup. Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon has gone back-to-back games with no goals just once this season. Let’s wrap up the three-legged Nov. 7 NHL parlay with MacKinnon at +110 to score a goal.
Put these three NHL bet predictions together in a parlay bet for a potentially big win:
- Anton Lundell to have 1+ points
- Elias Lindholm to have 1+ points
- Nathan MacKinnon to have 1+ goals
