The NHL spreads have Detroit, Colorado, Edmonton, and Washington as road favorites. The Dallas Wings (-440) are the heaviest favorites today.

A glance at the NHL injury report shows that Anaheim continues to play without defenseman Cam Fowler and forward Mason McTavish. Boston defenseman Hampus Lindholm, Montreal winger Patrik Laine and Columbus forward Kent Johnson are among the other players who will miss Monday’s games. Edmonton defenseman Darnell Nurse is day-to-day.

3 NHL Expert Picks for Tonight’s Games

1. Bet Avalanche-Flyers Game to Land Over 6.5

It has been a tough go for the goaltenders in recent matchups between the Colorado Avalanche and the Philadelphia Flyers with six of the last seven games between the teams landing over the total.

Philadelphia has scored five times in each of its last two games to extend its winning streak to three games. Colorado might be coming off a 5-2 loss to the Washington Capitals, but the Avalanche is led by Nathan MacKinnon, the top scorer in the NHL, while the 12 goals by Mikko Rantanen is one shy of the league-leading total.

We’d feel a little better if the NHL betting odds listed the total at 6 instead of 6.5 but we’ll go with the game to land over the total.

Bet on Avalanche vs Flyers Over +6½ (-120)

2. Take Sharks (+1.5) to Cover as Home Underdog

The San Jose Sharks has played four consecutive games decided by one goal and won just one of those games. San Jose is home after picking up four out of a possible eight points in a four-game road trip. While San Jose has covered in four of its eight games this season as a home underdog.

This is just the third time this season that Detroit is favored on the road. The Red Wings are 1-4 over its last five games and that is enough to go with San Jose to cover on Monday.

3. Parlay These Props on Matvei Michkov, Logan Sankoven and Macklin Celebrini

We are rolling with a rookie-dominated parlay for Monday night’s games.

Flyers rookie winger Matvei Michkov has points in each of his last four games with two goals and four assists during that stretch. He offers some value in the sports betting odds at -106 to have at least one point against the Colorado Avalanche.

Bet on Matvei Michkov to Score 1+ Points (-106)

While Logan Stankoven of the Dallas Stars has no points in three of his last six games, it is not a result of a lack of opportunity with 27 shots on goal during that stretch. Take a look at the -129 odds for Stankoven to have 1+ points against Anaheim.

It has been a tough stretch for No. 1 overall pick Macklin Celebrini of the San Jose Sharks with no points in his last four games. He does have at least three shots on goal in his last three outings so when completing our NHL parlay picks, consider the -108 odds for Celebrini to have at least one point.
