Get ready for what could be one of the best nights of hockey in the early portion of the NHL schedule with four games between teams with at least 10 wins among the 10 contests being played on Thursday.
When looking at some NHL news, the Boston Bruins host Utah in the first game since coach Jim Montgomery was fired. This will be the first game as interim coach for former Colorado Avalanche head man Joe Sacco. The Washington Capitals will play for the first time since the injury to Alexander Ovechkin, who has an NHL-best 15 goals this season.
The NHL spreads have the Tampa Bay Lightning, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, New York Islanders and the New York Rangers and the Tampa Bay Lightning as road favorites. Florida (-240) is the heaviest favorite today.
Ovechkin is not the only prominent name on the NHL injury report. Vegas forward Mark Stone, Boston defenseman Hampus Lindholm, Islanders forward Mathew Barzal, Carolina forward Seth Jarvis, Chicago defenseman Seth Jones are among the players who are not expected to be available for Thursday’s games.

3 NHL Expert Picks for Tonight’s Games
1. Take Hurricanes vs Devils to Land Under
This has been quite the stretch for the New Jersey Devils as they swept a pair of games from the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers before being shut out by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
It doesn’t get much easier with the next two games coming against the Carolina Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals. If there is a silver lining for the Devils it could be that New Jersey hasn’t played since Saturday while Carolina had a road game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.

The first meeting between the teams this season landed on the six-goal total after the previous four matchups in the series went under the total.
When making Nov. 21 NHL picks, go with this game to go under six goals.
Bet on Carolina vs New Jersey game to land under 6½ goals (-120)
2. Take Rangers to Win on the Road Again
Calgary‘s five-game win streak against the New York Rangers from 2018 to 2021 seems like ancient history since the Rangers have captured three of the last four meetings. The lone win for the Flames came at home in 2023.
There have been a total of 11 goals scored in the last three games between the teams so perhaps that is why the sports betting odds total is set at 6.

3. Charlie Coyle Part of NHL Thursday’s Parlay
Charlie Coyle is one of the many underachieving players for the Boston Bruins. Following the firing of Montgomery, the Bruins figure to have a reason to have an extra jump in Thursday’s game. Coyle, though, scored goals in two of his last three games and offers value at +139 according to the BetUS sportsbook to have 1+ points.
Much more was expected from Columbus second-year forward Adam Fantilli than nine points in 18 games. Consider the +112 odds for Fantill to make it back-to-back games with at least one point for the first time since late October.
Wrap up the Nov. 21 NHL parlay with Florida’s Anton Lundell at -103 to have 1+ points.
Bet this parlay: Charlie Coyle, Adam Fantilli and Anton Lundell to have 1+ points (+925).
