NHL Parlay: Best Bets Are for Totals To Go Under on April 13

We know the Stanley Cup Playoffs are around the corner. That means Saturday’s NHL games are more significant. So we can expect playoff-like plays from several teams like Detroit and Pittsburgh as they fend for their seasons. The results will be mixed. But we’re certain they will produce some low-scoring games. Thus, the best NHL hockey bets today for our parlay lie in several matchups going under.

Toronto Takes Out Detroit – Under 6½ (+105)

The Red Wings are in dire straits and must win in Toronto to preserve their playoff hopes. Unfortunately, Toronto is a far superior team than Detroit and is on cruise control. The Maple Leafs are more potent offensively and can exploit Detroit’s error-prone play.

Detroit gives up over 3.6 goals from 34 shots on average when playing on the road. That is a red flag against Toronto, which averages nearly 3.8 goals per home game. Instead of a high-scoring firefight here, we expect Toronto to neutralize Detroit in a game that features fewer than six goals.

Ilya Samsonov has been playing better for Toronto in goal. And the Leafs have held five of their last seven opponents to two goals or fewer. After giving up six against New Jersey, the Leafs will buckle down and control Detroit. Bet online on the total to go under.

Bruins Silence Penguins – Under 6 (-105)

In what could be an early playoff preview, the Bruins visit the Penguins on ABC. Our NHL pick is on a low-scoring affair given what’s at stake. Five of these teams’ last seven totals have gone under when in Pittsburgh. Both the Bruins and Penguins play a tough defensive game and it will be more pronounced now with a lot on the line.

Pittsburgh has scored a lot lately, hence why five of its last seven games have gone over the total. But we’ll be shocked if the Penguins can score more than three goals against Boston. The Bruins give up under 2.8 goals at home with an 81.6% penalty kill. Either Jeremy Swayman or Linus Ullmark are stalwart in goal.

Furthermore, the Penguins are on a high after ousting Detroit 6-5 in overtime. That’s just a few days after falling 3-2 against the Leafs. We expect this game to be more like the Toronto game. Bet the under as part of our NHL parlay.

Kings Drown the Ducks – Under 5½ (+105)

The Kings are riding high after clinching a playoff berth with a win over Calgary. As a “reward,” they play Anaheim on the second night of a back-to-back. The Ducks have struggled to get anything going under these conditions, averaging just 1.2 goals in their last five games. We expect Los Angeles to minimize their SoCal rivals.

Los Angeles won’t have to do much. It just needs to play the way it usually does at home where it allows just 27.4 shots while killing off a league-leading 88.2% of its penalties. Anaheim has been abysmal on offense all season and playing without rest won’t do it any favors.

Six goals is not a lot. But we’ll be shocked to see Anaheim score more than two goals in this contest. As such, the NHL betting odds got it right with the low total. Add the Ducks-Kings ‘under’ to the parlay.
