Jets Fly Past Ottawa – Winnipeg (-185)

The Jets need a win in a bad way. They’ve dropped five straight games and have fallen to third in the Central Division standings. But their last five losses have all come against playoff-caliber opponents. Ottawa is not in this tier. The Senators have lost five straight games against opponents with winning records.

Sure, the Senators have won five straight games. But they are also winless on the road (0-14) against Western Conference opponents. Ottawa is also 2-12 against the spread (ATS) in these matchups. We can’t bet online on Ottawa here. And this is a good spot for Winnipeg, especially with forward Gabriel Vilardi returning.

The former King has been one of Winnipeg’s best players. The Jets are 26-12 (26-10-2) when he plays and have been 7-8 (7-7-1) since he went down with an injury on February 29. Additionally, Winnipeg returns home where it is 14-6 in it last 20 games. This is the perfect storm for Winnipeg to return to form. Parlay the Jets.

Lightning Sink the Islanders – Tampa Bay (-160)

The NHL odds tonight favor Tampa Bay over the Islanders in what should be a firefight. The Bolts have been up-and-down due to porous defense or goaltending. But they also score nearly four goals per home game (3.9) and have the second-best power play (32.4%).

This is a favorable matchup against the Islanders, who allow nearly 3.5 goals per road game on 33.7 shots while having a bottom-five penalty kill (72%). Tampa Bay has also won 7 of its last 10 meetings against the Isles in which it averaged 3.4 goals per game while doubling them in power play goals (six versus three).

The Islanders are also 12-15 (12-11-4) under new coach Patrick Roy. Semyon Varlamov will tend to the pipes and he has a 3-3-2 record with an 89.8% save percentage in his last 10 appearances. Given the circumstances, our money is on Tampa Bay on the sportsbook.

Stars Outshine Kraken – Dallas -1½ goals (+150)

Dallas may be the best NHL team right now. And it is an easy parlay NHL pick it to deliver against Seattle, which is floundering. Seattle has lost 8 of its last 10 games and its only victories are against Anaheim, the worst team outside San Jose. Meanwhile, Dallas has won 10 straight conference games.

Additionally, the Stars are 11-9 on the puckline as a visitor in these games, making them one of the most profitable teams. Dallas is averaging over 3.4 goals as a visitor, which is the second-best mark in the league. Its 24.8% power play is ranked in the top five.

On the flip side, Seattle has one of the worst offenses at home. The Kraken are averaging 2.8 goals on 28 shots per game. This won’t cut it when Dallas is on a hot streak and torching conference foes. A Stars victory, possibly by 2+ goals, is a solid NHL prediction.
