Oilers Good Bet to Rebound vs Gritty Canucks in Game 4
The Edmonton Oilers, one of the favorites in the odds to win the Stanley Cup before the playoffs, may have their season on the line when they host the Vancouver Canucks for Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals on Tuesday.

The Oilers outshot Vancouver 45-18 in Game 3 on Sunday but suffered a 4-3 loss to lose home-ice advantage in the best-of-seven series. Edmonton is now just 2-2 at home in the playoffs and down 2-1 in the series.
Brock Boeser and Elias Lindholm scored two goals apiece and Arturs Silovs made 42 saves for Vancouver, which has beaten the Oilers in six of seven meetings this season. The Canucks have won all four road games in the postseason – each by one goal.

Edmonton is still a slight favorite to win the series (-115) in Las Vegas odds while Vancouver is -105.

- Boeser owns nine goals in seven contests against Edmonton this season.
- Oilers forward LeonDraisaitl has registered two goals and six assists in the series.
- Vancouver has covered the first-period puck line in 48 of its last 87 outings.
The Legend of Silovs Grows
Vancouver was forced to go to its third goalie after three games in the playoffs due to injuries and a 23-year-old Latvian is building quite a fan following since.
Silovs won for the fourth time in six starts on Sunday and owns a .908 save percentage in the playoffs after a career-high 42 stops in Game 3. Silovs spent most of the season with Abbotsford of the American Hockey League where he was 16-11-6.
“The kid’s given us games. It’s the big stage and he’s not blinking,”
Canucks coach Rick Tocchet said of Silovs. “He’s coming in every day and he’s working hard.”
The question is, if you bet online, can it continue? No. 2 goalie Casey DeSmith is healthy and backing up while Vezina Trophy finalist Thatcher Demko is skating and may be ready by the end of the series.
Arturs Silovs made 42 saves to help the @Canucks take a 2-1 series lead. Thatcher Demko is the only other rookie netminder in franchise history to post 42+ saves in a playoff game (48 in Game 6 of 2020 R2 & 42 in Game 5 of 2020 R2). #StanleyCup#NHLStats: https://t.co/lHVFyxfBHh pic.twitter.com/HhyXndxIcG

Oilers Need Saves, Finishes
Edmonton has outshot Vancouver 76-37 over the last two games, but managed only one victory — in overtime.
The Oilers scored seven times in those two games, but allowed seven and were tasked with fighting uphill much of Sunday. Starting goalie Stuart Skinner stopped just 11 of the 15 shots he faced in Game 3 before being replaced by Calvin Pickard.
“Tonight’s one that (Skinner) would like to have back, and we’ll see what he’s got in the future whether that’s Game 4 or Game 5 or whatever it is,” Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters of Skinner, who has an .816 SP versus Vancouver this season.
Skinner allowed at least three goals in six of eight games during the playoffs. The deficit also forced Draisaitl and Connor McDavid to play over 29 minutes in the contest.

Offense From Defense
Both teams have defensemen who are paying off prop bets.
Edmonton’s Evan Bouchard has at least a point in six straight games and led all defensemen with 13 in the playoffs through Sunday’s games. Teammate Mattias Ekholm had a goal and a helper in the Game 3 loss.
Vancouver’s Quinn Hughes, a finalist for the Norris Trophy, has eight assists in nine playoff games after setting up a pair on Sunday and fellow rearguard Nikita Zadorov boasts four goals in the postseason.
Zadorov was fined $5,000 by the NHL after cross-checking McDavid just after the final horn in Game 3. McDavid and Vancouver defenseman Carson Soucy slashed each other and Zadorov belted the Oilers center from behind. Zadorov is already an enemy in Edmonton.
