Panthers vs Golden Knights Game 2 Props and Live Betting Tips

Florida Claws Back, Golden Knights Ready

It’s desperation time for the Florida Panthers. Head coach Paul Maurice may be telling everyone to “calm down,” but he will make sure Florida plays with the utmost urgency from the puck drop to the final horn. As such, expect several players to get on the scoreboard via the props on the NHL lines. Likewise, these Vegas players will take their best attacks and strike back.

Karlsson Makes an Impact

William “Wild Bill” Karlsson leads the Las Vegas Golden Knights in goals alongside his teammate, Jonathan Marchessault. The pair are two of Vegas’s original six members left and are still supremely important for the team. Karlsson was quiet in Game 1, with just one shot on goal and a -1 rating in 22 shifts.

Karlsson being this muted again is not likely, so it’s worth betting online against. Karlsson has been solid for Vegas’ NHL odds, especially on 5-on-5. He just has a knack to get hot or cold with his offense. In this game, double down on Karlsson getting hot as he scores a goal to help push his Golden Knights closer to the Stanley Cup.

  • Pick: William Karlsson (VGS) Total Points – Over ½ (-120)
  • Pick: Any time Goal scorer – Karlsson (+230)

Montour Keeps Firing

Brandon Montour had one of the hottest starts to the postseason as a defenseman, racking up six goals and nine points in his first eight playoff games. But since then, he’s registered zero points. It’s not for lack of trying, as he’s putting up nearly four shots a game. At some point, he’s bound to get back on the scoreboard.

Bet online on Montour to do it for Game 2. He still gets top power play time and is one of the main shooters from Florida. With the team’s fast-paced and aggressive style, Montour will have plenty of chances to throw the puck in net. Someone will hop on that rebound and score a goal, earning him his first point since Game 1 versus Toronto.

  • Pick: Brandon Montour (FLA) Total Assists – Over ½ (Ev)

Starting Off Hot

Fans won’t have to wait too long to see someone open up the scoring. Either Vegas or Florida will score by the halfway mark of the first period. Eleven of Florida’s 17 playoff games had a player score within the first 9½ minutes of the game. It was almost 12 as Brad Marchand scored in the 9:45 mark of the first in Game 4 of the Boston series.

Pick: Score in the First 9½ Minutes of the Game – Yes (-155)

Both Vegas and Florida also roughly average one goal per first period as a host and as a visitor, respectively. Thus, it’s a savvy NHL pick to bet the first period to be the one to produce the most goals at triple the return of the wager.

  • Pick: Highest Scoring Period – 1st Period (+320)

Live Betting Pick

Continuing on this idea of potent scoring on both sides, the way to bet this is to lean on the total to go over. Currently, the over 5½ is set at -125. Bet this early as the line could adjust to six goals the moment a pair of goals are scored in the first period.

But if the opposite happens and scoring somehow does not happen till the 2nd, the line could flip to the under 5½ or even drop to five. That’s worth fading, as these teams can score goals in a hurry. Either way, bank on NHL news to feature another explosive game, just like the first.

  • Pick: Total – Over 5½ (-125)
