The Carolina Hurricanes have been the most efficient team in the first two rounds of the playoffs and open as the favorite in our NHL odds for Game 1 against the visiting Florida Panthers on May 20.
The Hurricanes took care of New Jersey and Washington in five games each to reach the Eastern Conference finals for the second time in three years. Carolina, which is +300 in the NHL futures to win the Cup, lost four one-goal games to Florida in the 2023 East finals.
The Panthers handled Tampa Bay in five contests during the first round, but were forced to win at Toronto in Game 7 on Sunday, 6-1, to advance. Both teams have been extremely balanced offensively, making NHL prop bets difficult.

The talented center becomes more of a passer at times, but he has a solid shot as well, and we expect the Fin to be more of a shooter in this series. Aho has 22 shots in the playoffs, but has recorded at least three in half of the 10 games. If Carolina wins this series, Aho will likely be a strong NHL bet.
