Goalie Questions in South Florida
The Florida Panthers seemed to have one of the better goaltending tandems in the NHL with two-time Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky joined by former first-round pick Spencer Knight.
Bobrovsky has been ruled out for a short stretch for the Panthers and Knight was sent to the AHL on a rehabilitation assignment.
The 30-year-old Alex Lyon, playing for his third franchise in the last three seasons, has stopped 52 of 57 shots in wins over Montreal and Minnesota.

Mack Guzda joined Lyon as a recent call-up for the AHL’s Checkers as the Panthers were without their top two goalies. However, the Panthers announced that Knight was being called up and Guzda was returning to the AHL.

Offense from the Defense
The Rangers have picked up points in seven of the nine games played in January, and the defensemen are playing a huge role.
Former Norris Trophy winner Adam Fox leads the Rangers with 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and his defensive partner, K’Andre Miller, is right behind Fox with three goals and six assists. Both Fox and Miller have game-winning goals during that stretch.
Five different defensemen have at least one goal in January as blue-liners have eight goals and 21 assists in the month. Braden Schneider also has a game-winning goal for the Rangers as they have moved into playoff position.
The Las Vegas odds total has gone under in four of the Rangers’ last five games.
