Boston Eyes Franchise-Record 58th Win

Bruins Favored Over Predators

The Boston Bruins are eying a franchise-record 58th win when they welcome the Nashville Predators to the TD Garden on Tuesday night.

Predictably, the league pace-setters are the prohibitive favorites at the sportsbook exchange to come through with the victory at home. But the Predators have no shortage of motivation. They are mired in a battle for one of the two wild-card spots in the Western Conference and they’ll be keen to steal the win for themselves against the NHL odds.

Let’s check the latest NHL news, stats, injury reports, and NHL lines for Predators vs Bruins. We’ve got plenty of NHL picks for you.

Predators Face Uphill Battle

Nashville ranks fifth in the Central Division with a 36-28-8 record and 80 points from 72 games played. They are five points adrift of their division rivals, the Winnipeg Jets, who currently hold the second and final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

If the season ended today, the Predators would be coasting on the sofa, watching the playoffs on the telly with the rest of us. Therefore, with only 10 games left on Nashville’s schedule, the pressure is well and truly on to get maximum points.

Unfortunately, recent form is a modest 5-4-1 in their last 10 games and includes five losses in their last seven games, underscored by back-to-back losses at home. First, they were steamrolled by the Seattle Kraken 7-2 – failing to whiff at the puck line, which closed with Nashville tipped at +1½ (-220) on the NHL betting board.

Then, they lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Sunday, covering the +1½ (-150) puck line for their backers thanks to a late goal by Tyson Barrie.

The Predators were down 2-0 after a slow start against the high-flying Maple Leafs and it wasn’t until Cody Glass’s power-play goal at 12:37 in the third period that Nashville finally got on the board. However, the Maple Leafs re-established the two-goal lead less than four minutes later. Barrie scored Nashville’s second goal at 18:18, but it was too little too late as the Maple Leafs held on to take the crucial win.

Bruins: The Invincibles

Every so often in sports, a team puts together an incredible run that sets it apart from the rest of the field in its league and places it in the history books forevermore. One could argue that some of the individual players on the said team are no better than those of their nearest rivals. But the sum total of these players, their teamwork, drive, fearlessness, and never-say-die attitude is what sets them apart.

The kind of union that comes once in a generation and that posterity might remember eventually as “The Invincibles.”

The Bruins are that sort of team for the NHL this season. They’ve already wrapped up the Atlantic Division title with a 57-11-5 record and 119 points from 73 games. They’re riding a seven-game winning streak into Tuesday’s contest, all while eyeing up a record-franchise 58th win.

Boston edged Carolina 4-3 on the road, fending off a late third-period push by the Hurricanes to clinch the win. With forwards Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and defenseman Hampus Lindholm resting, the Bruins turned to some of their other players to step up.

David Pasternak scored his 50th goal as he opened the scoring for the Bruins in the first period. In the second, the Czech star scored his 51st goal on the power play and Jakub Lauko scored his fourth goal of the season to help lift the hosts to the win.

Predators vs Bruins Picks and Prediction

The Bruins orbit in a universe of their own, playing at a stratospheric level that is virtually uncatchable. The Predators are a good team, but recent form has let them down. One can’t underestimate them, but a road win against the Bruins is a big ask.

Betting on Boston to win this game is the smart bet. But betting 3x or more than the potential payout doesn’t offer the best angle for profit. The puck line, where the Bruins are tipped as the -1½ (-120) chalk, offers better bang for your buck and is worth a flutter.

Boston is listed at -320 in our Vegas lines. So, if you wager $100 on the Bruins, there’s a chance to win $31. Nashville is +260, with a chance to win $260 on a $100 wager.

The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives Boston a 76.19% chance to win, with the Predators at 27.78%.
