Central Division Foes Wrap Up Season Series

Sluggish Stars Heavily Favored

The Nashville Predators are hoping to get a little bit of revenge on the Dallas Stars in their final meeting of the season. In case you haven’t been tracking the NHL news, the teams have met up three times this season with Dallas winning each time.

However, Dallas has been fairly sluggish of late with just four wins in its last nine games. Are the Stars worth a bet here as a big favorite?

Predators: Slim Postseason Hopes

The Nashville Predators are clinging on to their postseason hopes but there is still time for them to close the gap. Currently, they are five points back of the Winnipeg Jets for the final playoff spot.

However, those who bet online should note that Nashville has two games in hand. The Predators helped their cause with a massive 6-1 win over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday. They need more of that the rest of the way soccer betting.

Nashville will be looking for another excellent performance out of Tommy Novak after he posted a goal and three assists against the Blues. The Predators also did a great job at keeping the puck in their possession throughout the game.

They allowed just 22 shots on the net, 21 of which were saved by their goalie Juuse Saros. Saros is coming off a month that saw him allow 2.64 goals per game in March. If you’re betting this team on the NHL odds, you’re banking on a good outing from Saros.

Stars Slipping Down the Standings

The Dallas Stars had previously been in conversation to be the top team in the West. They’re still just five points back of that. However, given how crowded the conference is, they’re actually sixth in the standings.

If you’re looking at the NHL lines here, you’d have to think that Dallas is motivated to get points here too. The Stars are tied with Colorado for second place in the Central, one point behind Minnesota.

Their offense seems to come and go and that’s the issue right now. After scoring nine goals in their previous two games, they mustered just two in a loss on Saturday.

Jason Robertson is doing the heavy lifting but he needs help. He netted two assists in the loss on Saturday and brought his points total to a team-high 97 points.

The good news is Jake Oettinger has played well against Nashville this season. He’s started three games against the Predators, going 3-0-0 with a 1.33 goals-against average and a .956 save percentage.

Predators vs Stars Picks and Prediction

The Stars are listed as heavy favorites in the sportsbook and that’s likely due to series history. Dallas hasn’t just won each of the three previous games against Nashville but it has absolutely dominated those games.

This feels like a pricey line to lay for your NHL picks as the Stars are not that dominant these days. Instead, a safer play might be to lay the puck line. If the Stars don’t win, the loss won’t hurt your bankroll as much.

Dallas is listed a -200 in our Vegas NHL lines. So, if you wager $100 on the Stars, there’s a chance to win $50. Nashville is +170 with a chance to win $170 on a $100 wager.
