NHL Odds Similar Rangers-Penguins Game 3
After a marathon Game 1, the New York Rangers evened this series. They dismantled the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, and it went as we expected. The NHL betting lines predict more of the same with the series shifting to Pittsburgh on Saturday. The Rangers are favored to recapture home-ice advantage.
Let’s check the latest NHL lines, stats, injury reports, and NHL odds for Rangers vs Penguins. We’ve plenty of NHL picks and predictions.
Rangers Can Keep Pushing
With the Thursday win, the New York Rangers improved to 4-0-1 versus the Pittsburgh Penguins in their last five meetings. It was a fast-paced game that saw New York outlast its older counterpart. Nevertheless, Igor Shesterkin had to stand tall in net.
The Vezina Trophy fron-trunner was brilliant once again-despite getting run over-as he turned aside 39 of the 41 shots he faced, improving to 3-0-1 over Pittsburgh with a whopping 94.8 save percentage against the Pens.
Shesterkin looks surprisingly good now after appearing to be deceased for about 30 seconds.

With how well Shesterkin has handled the Penguins, the Rangers can continue playing their high-risk, high-reward brand of hockey. It’s been tremendous for them, continuing to succeed despite surrendering scoring chances left and right. Time will tell if Shesterkin can hold his form.
Can Penguins Solve Another Hot Goalie?
You have to feel for the Pittsburgh Penguins here. This team, going by the metrics, should be the one blowing out the Rangers. The Penguins lead the playoffs in scoring chances created on 5v5 with 92. Even with the extra three periods, this is an average of over 10 chances per period.
This seems to be a trend, with the Penguins winning just one playoff round since hoisting the Stanley Cup back in 2017. The Pens keep getting outdone by a hot goaltender. In last season’s playoffs, it was Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders. Previously, it was Carey Price with Montreal. In 2019, it was Robin Lehner, then of the Isles.
Pittsburgh, which plays one of the best 5v5 hockey and features an elite penalty kill, is down to Louis Domingue as the third-string netminder. His emergency appearance in Game 1 was the stuff of postseason lore, but he was completely undressed in Game 2. If only Domingue can be at half the goalie of Shesterkin, betting online on Pittsburgh may be fruitful.
Penguins vs Rangers Head-to-Head
Despite the series tied, 1-1, the New York Rangers are -150 to win the series, per the online sports betting odds. The Rangers have the second-worst scoring-chance differential and worst expected goals against. However, with Shesterkin in net, it’s tough to bet against New York.

Penguins vs Rangers Prediction
To the New York Rangers’ credit, it isn’t all Shesterkin. The offense has been clutch. Chris Kreider is scoring and helping produce timely goals while Artemi Panarin is often the most dynamic skater on the ice. Notably, the Rangers did better holding their own on 5v5 against the Pittsburgh Penguins’ elite top line.
As long as the Rangers do not badly get outplayed on 5v5 and maintain their scoring touch-which they’ve proven over and over-we’re expecting them able to edge Pittsburgh yet again.
