Bet on Stars to Take Lead with Favorable NHL Odds vs Golden Knights

The Dallas Stars will be the favorite in the NHL odds to end the string of road victories in the series on Wednesday night when they host the Vegas Golden Knights for Game 5 in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

The Stars, who led the West with 113 points in the regular season, lost the first two games of the best-of-seven series at home. But Dallas fought back with an overtime triumph on Saturday and won 4-2 at Vegas on Monday to even the series.

“It’s not over unless you give up, and no one in here has given up, and now we’re right back in the series,’ Stars goalie Jake Oettinger told reporters. “I just couldn’t be more proud of the way the guys played, and just the decisions and little plays that separate this time of year.”

Jack Eichel gave Vegas a 2-1 lead early in the second period on Monday, but Dallas scored twice before the third and Oettinger made 14 saves in the final 20 minutes to preserve the victory.

The Stars are the favorite (-155) to win the series in the Las Vegas NHL odds while the Golden Knights are at +135 to take it.

Vegas Searching for Answers

The Golden Knights solved every issue on the way to winning the Stanley Cup last season.

Vegas had some push back against Dallas pressure in Games 3 and 4, but not nearly enough to turn the tide and take control of the series. Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said his team needs to make the decisive plays like it did in the first two games.

Eichel leads the team with six points while forward Jonathan Marchessaut and defenseman Brayden McNabb (team-best +5) have four each. .

Oettinger Paying Off Bets

Oettinger appeared to give Dallas an advantage in goal, based on experience and his 102 wins over the past three regular seasons.

Oettinger stopped 64 of 68 shots in the last two games (.941 save percentage) to help get Dallas back in the series. Oettinger owns a .916 SP in 32 career playoff games.

Logan Thompson has been outstanding in his first four playoff games with a .921 SP for Vegas, but has faced 19 more shots than Oettinger.

The late empty-net goal by Roope Hintz made over bettors winners on Monday, but these two goalies have a chance to beat the under line (5 ½).

Road Sweet Road For NHL Bettors

This is the only series that does not feature a victory for a home team in the first round.

Vegas found a way to win Game 1 despite managing just 15 shots, but was outplayed in its two home games. Now it’s a three-game series, Dallas has all the momentum and the Stars will be among most NHL expert picks to snap the road streak.

Depth has also been a factor for the Stars. With forwards Mason Marchment and Radek Faksa out with injuries, replacements Ty Dellandrea (goal) and Craig Smith (assist) contributed the winning goal.

Wyatt Johnston scored his third goal in two games Monday for Dallas and the 20-year-old is a good bet to convert again in Game 5.
