Stars vs Jets Same Game Parlay Picks May 7: Bet Winnipeg (-105) in Game 1

The Winnipeg Jets are a slight underdog in the NHL odds against the visiting Dallas Stars for Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinal series after both teams made great escapes in the first round.

Dallas is +450 in the NHL futures to win the Stanley Cup and the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Jets are +1000, but much will depend on the recovery of two key injured players on both sides.

Regular-season leading goal scorer Jason Robertson and top defenseman Miro Heiskanen are close to returning for the Stars. Winnipeg’s No. 1 center Mark Scheifele and top defenseman Josh Morrissey are game-time decisions, Their status will affect your NHL prop bets today.

Stars vs Jets Free NHL Parlay Picks

• Leg 1: Winnipeg on ML (-105)

The Jets showed great resolve, but needed a little luck to advance to the second round. Cole Perfetti’s goal with 1.6 seconds left in regulation tied it and Adam Lowry scored in the second OT to beat St. Louis 4-3 in Game 7. Winnipeg should build off that emotion and it did not lose a home game in the series. The Jets won three of the four NHL matchups with Dallas during the regular season. Go with them in Game 1.

• Leg 2: Bet Under 5 ½ Goals (+105)

Much will depend on the status of the injured players, on both sides of the ice. Check late NHL news for the lineups, but it’s possible all four players could sit out. Goalie Jake Oettinger had his moments in the 4-3 series win against Colorado, posting a .911 save percentage and holding his team in it.

Winnipeg’s Connor Hellebuyck, a Hart and Vezina Trophy finalist, struggled on the road against the Blues before seeming to find his top level after two early goals against in Game 7. Expect it to be tight, perhaps 3-2 or 3-1.

• Leg 3: Kyle Connor 2+ Points (+164)

Kyle Connor is both a playmaker and a sniper for the Jets. The 28-year-old left wing finished the regular season with a team-high 97 points and had four goals to go along with an assist versus Dallas. Connor had 12 points in the first round – 10 of those at home, including three assets in Game 7. Scheifele’s return would help a bit, but Connor had seven shots in Game 7 without him in the lineup. Use the Michigan product in your NHL parlay.

• Leg 4: Wyatt Johnston Anytime Goal (+225)

Wyatt Johnston was held to two points (both assists) in the first four games of the series against Colorado. However, he scored three times in the final three, including the winner in Game 7 as Dallas recorded the final four goals for a 4-2 win.

Mikko Rantanen scored a hat trick in Game 7 and finished with a team-high 12 points in the series for the Stars. He will be prominent in player prop picks as the series goes on, but our NHL prediction is that Johnston scores in Game 1.
