Stars are Aligning
Two of the hottest teams in the Western Conference are ready to get reacquainted. The Central Division-leading Dallas Stars face the Los Angeles Kings, who are currently second in the Pacific Division.
Since the start of December, Dallas is tied for the best points percentage in the Western Conference with the Minnesota Wild, with the Kings coming in third.
Dallas is 12-5-3 on the road and Los Angeles is 11-6-2 at home. One advantage for the Stars is that Dallas has covered in 13 of 20 road games while Los Angeles is just 7-12 against the spread on home ice.
Dallas will be without wingers Denis Gurianov and Nick Caamano. Forwards Arthur Kaliyev and Trevor Moore are out for the Kings.
According to the NHL playoff odds, the Stars (+1600) are tied for the seventh-best odds to win the Stanley Cup. The Kings are 15th at +3500

Special Times In Dallas
Dallas takes a four-game winning streak into Tuesday’s matchup and look no further than the Stars’ play on special teams for leading the way.
Dallas is 8 of 17 on the power play during that stretch with only the Tampa Bay Lightning converting more frequently than the Stars. Dallas has not only killed off 10 of the last 11 power plays by the opposition, but the Stars have as many short-handed goals as power-play goals allowed during that time.
Roope Hintz has three power-play goals over the last four games and five goals overall while Jason Robertson had a goal and five assists, all coming on the power play, during the winning streak.

An unlikely player seems to have made an impact.

Copley is 6-0-0 over his last six games with a .916 save percentage and 2.22 goals-against average.
Longtime Los Angeles starting goalie Jonathan Quick has stopped 42 of 46 shots over two games during that time.
