Take the Over for Avalanche vs Coyotes

Central Division teams will clash for the first time when the Colorado Avalanche begin their road trip against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday. The Avalanche will look to continue their four-game win streak and remain on top of the divisional standings against the Coyotes, who have won their last two games. Both will be looking to add to their win streak, but hockey bets today favor Colorado on the road.

Avalanche Keep Building

Colorado added to its win streak when it downed Tampa Bay behind another strong offensive outing in its last game.

The Avalanche are third in the NHL with an average of 3.76 goals a game, led by Cale Makar, who is fourth in the league with 32 points this season. In their last four games, they have scored 3.75 goals a game, capped by a four-goal game in their last outing.

Though defenseman Makar hasn’t slowed down, scoring five points over those four games,  center Nathan MacKinnon has continued to be a steady presence for Colorado, recording six points in that same time after having two assists against the Lightning.

The Avalanche will aim to continue their scoring against Arizona, and with Makar and MacKinnon leading the way, they should be a strong NHL bet to do so.

Coyotes Get Defensive Spark

Arizona got a new kind of streak going after ending its three-game slide with a pair of wins over Vegas and Tampa Bay.

The Coyotes’ defense struggled throughout their skid, allowing opponents to average five goals a game in that time, but they turned things around in their last couple of games, shutting out the Knights and holding the Lightning to one goal.

After goalie Karel Vejmelka struggled in two of those losses, giving up eight total goals to finish with a .738 save percentage, Arizona found more success with Connor Ingram in net. He has saved 64 shots for a .984 save percentage the last two games.

The Coyotes are yet to announce their starting goalie against Colorado, but with the difference in play between the two lately, bettors may want to wait to see who’s in net before looking at some live betting odds.

Avalanche vs Coyotes Best Bet

The Nov. 30 NHL game between the Avalanche and Coyotes should be a good battle with both looking to extend their win streaks, but it should also be an offensive one with both teams’ recent play.

The Avalanche have one of the best offenses in the NHL, and despite Arizona’s recent defensive play, it still may have trouble slowing Colorado down. If Vejmelka is in net, Colorado should have even more of a chance to find the back of the net and rack up the goals.

The Coyotes have been able to score lately as well, averaging 3.33 in their last three games. Combined with Colorado’s capabilities, the two should combine to hit the over on the 6½ total from NHL lines.

NFL Pick: Over 6½ goals (EV)
