Under Top Pick in Predators vs Blackhawks

Central Division teams will meet for the second time this season when the Chicago Blackhawks host the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Both teams have been struggling recently, with Nashville putting an end to a two-game losing streak while Chicago has lost its last three. The Blackhawks will look to put an end to that slide and even the series after the Predators won the last meeting, but NHL odds favor Nashville on the road.

Predators Tighten Defense

Nashville put an end to its two-game losing skid after taking down the Buffalo Sabres behind a better game defensively.

After the Predators gave up 10 goals combined in their previous two games, they held Buffalo to just one goal, with Juuse Saros recording 34 saves for a .971 save percentage to help get the win.

However, despite the victory, Nashville’s offense still left room for improvement. It has averaged two goals in its last three games, going 1-for-9 on the power play in that time as well.

With their offense hitting a wall, the Preds may have to look to their defense once again to help them pick up a win on the road and be a solid NHL pick against Chicago.

Blackhawks Sliding

Chicago lost its third consecutive game and fourth of five after its offense failed to get going yet again.

The Blackhawks are third-worst in the NHL, averaging 2.43 goals a game. In their last three games, they have scored just once each game and are averaging 1.8 goals in their last five games.

Chicago has had issues getting shots on goal, getting outshot 91-85 in its last three games. Its power play hasn’t found much success either, going 2-for-8 with the extra man during its losing streak.

The Blackhawks will try to find some offensive success when they return home, but with how they’ve been playing, bettors may want to see if they can start any better before looking at some NHL live betting odds.

Predators vs Blackhawks Best Bet

The sportsbook favors Nashville on the road in Tuesday’s matchup, but with how the two teams are playing, the NHL best bet should be to take the under.

Chicago’s offense has been less-than-impressive for most of the season, with rookie Connor Bedard being its main positive. Against a Nashville defense that has shown some promise and also kept the Blackhawks to two goals in their first game, they should struggle again.

However, Nashville’s offense hasn’t been very hot either, and after both teams failed to reach the over in their first meeting, the two are unlikely to do so in meeting two either.
