Blackhawks Prediction for the 2024-25 NHL Season

Most of the NHL news will be focused on Bedard. But Chicago’s additions should make it better. The bar is low for the Blackhawks and pushing for a playoff spot is unlikely but not impossible. Chicago could be a nice underdog bet once in a while.

The NHL odds project Chicago with a total of 74.5 points, which is two more than the previous season even if that team finished with fewer points than two seasons ago. Chicago will need better injury luck and more scoring as the team finished last in the NHL last season.

Playoff Chances

The Blackhawks have long NHL Playoff odds as its projected regular-season point total indicates. It will be a pleasant surprise if Chicago can challenge for a playoff spot. But simply improving its stats from last season should be considered progress.

Key Players to Watch

Other than Bedard, Chicago needs playmakers. Philipp Kurashev finished second on the team in points last season and must continue to step up. Taylor Hall, a former Hart Trophy winner, must also stay healthy and solidify his place as a scorer beside Bedard.

Coaching Analysis

Luke Richardson enters his third season with Chicago. While expectations are low, it’s not a shocking Chicago Blackhawks prediction that he gets fired midseason if the team does not show improvements. With Bedard in his sophomore season, plus the offseason acquisitions, Chicago must start winning more games.
