Donald Trump Makes Surprise Appearance at a Las Vegas Casino

Craps, Chants, and Tips—Trump Shakes Things up on the Vegas Strip

Sin City Side Quest ♠️

Another day, another side quest for President Trump—this time making casino news by hitting up a Las Vegas casino. But he wasn’t there to roll the dice. Instead, he promised to double down on his efforts as the new POTUS.

Trump’s rally at the Circa Resort & Casino in Sin City on Saturday drew thousands of supporters. Photos and videos showed him strolling through the casino floor post-speech, flanked by a beefed-up security detail. Honestly, I hope they doubled up on that. All things considered, this is Vegas.

People Showed Love to Mr.President

For those keeping track, Nevada is a swing state that’s leaned blue since Barack Obama snagged it in 2008. Naturally, the crowd at Circa was hyped to see him. Chants of “USA! USA!” broke out as Trump passed the slot machines, pausing briefly to interact with gamblers. At one point, he approached a craps table mid-game, telling a player to “throw the dice.”

When reporters attempted to ask questions, a craps player hilariously shut them down with, “I’m rolling here.” Trump even complimented a gambler, saying, “You’re doing a good job,” before leaving. Say what you want about the man, but never interrupt a Vegas local mid-play.

I’ll be honest, if I were at a casino feverishly playing the slots and Trump walked up next to me, the phrase ‘jump scare’ would be an understatement. I’d probably be looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life.

The People’s President

During his speech, he made Trump news headlines by addressing tipped workers: “Any worker who relies on tips as income, your tips will be 100% yours.” He added, “Nationwide, over four million workers depend on tip income, including 700,000 single moms. Here in Nevada, a quarter of the typical restaurant worker’s pay comes from tips. I didn’t know that.”

Let’s be real, why are we taxing tips at all? It feels downright counterproductive to squeeze the working class—especially service workers who aren’t exactly rolling in the dough. Whatever the case, in Nevada, tipped positions are the backbone of the economy. Wait staff, valets, hotel maids, and casino dealers fuel the 24-hour hospitality industry so it would be great to see them catch a tax break.

So, love him or hate him, just know: if you’re gambling, Trump might pop up behind you. Me? My nervous system prefers online casinos and placing my bets, even to bet on politics, digitally. Who wants that kind of pressure?!
