The Las Vegas Sphere has officially been named. And to the surprise of no one—and the delight of absolutely everyone—it has officially been dubbed Orbi.
Ever since the Sphere (sorry, Orbi) was unveiled in September 2023, there’s been about a 50/50 chance that someone would mistakenly call it “the orb” instead of “the Sphere.” And for those who love cute little nicknames, Orbi has become a popular unofficial moniker among Las Vegas locals, thanks to the yellow emoji that frequently appears on the structure’s massive LED screen.
The casino news of its official naming isn’t coming out of nowhere—it was announced alongside the launch of the Sphere’s new online store, which features merchandise starring the beloved emoji.

“Orbi has become a global phenomenon and cultural touchstone, captivating audiences in Las Vegas and on social media with its many expressions,” said Chandra Allison, Executive Vice President of Sales and Service at Sphere, who oversees merchandise. “The e-commerce site is a way for fans around the world to connect with Orbi and Sphere via official branded merchandise, further extending the reach and visibility of Sphere’s brand.”
She’s not wrong. Anecdotally speaking, as a Vegas local, I’ve had several friends visit just to lay their eyes on Orbi in all its glory, and I’ve FaceTimed plenty of friends to witness it in real time. In less than two years, The Sphere Vegas has become nearly as iconic to Las Vegas as the Stratosphere, affectionately referred to as Vegas’ North Star.

What’s Inside the Orbi Collection?
The Sphere is located near Venetian and Wynn Resorts, just off the Strip, and has already hosted some of the biggest Las Vegas events and concerts. Since opening in September 2023, it has welcomed concert residencies from U2, Phish, Dead & Company, the Eagles, and Anyma, with more high-profile acts likely on the way.

Now, fans can take a piece of Orbi home with them. The “Orbi Collection” features: T-shirts, hoodies, and baby wear. Tote bags, bucket hats, and trucker hats. Magnets and keychains
And honestly, as far as Las Vegas tourist merch goes, the pieces are actually pretty adorable (sorry, Adorbi). Oh, and it isn’t just online. There will also be Orbi merch sold at the venue.
