All or Nothing in NRL Clash in Melbourne
Everything at Stake
There are no second chances for the Melbourne Storm and Canberra Raiders in Saturday’s finals game at AAMI Park.
Melbourne lost its last two games to fall outside the top four, which means they need to win to stay in the hunt for the NRL premiership.
Canberra finished with a wet sail just to make the top eight, so momentum is on its side. However, NRL odds have the Storm as firm favorites to progress.
Let’s review the latest Rugby picks, stats, injury reports, and Rugby odds for Storm vs Raiders. We’ve plenty of Rugby predictions for you to consider.
As well explore a variety of other rugby odds here to win!
Storm is Brewing
The Storm always time their run for the finals and that could be the case again.
Despite losing to the Roosters and Eels over the last two weeks, the Storm get Jahrome Hughes back and his inclusion makes the world of difference.
Prior to the consecutive losses, the Storm defeated Brisbane 60-12 and the Panthers 16-0, so that form is easily good enough to dispatch the visiting Raiders.
Star half Cameron Munster sees no reason why the Storm can’t win.
“The effort is there for us, we just need to make sure we go out there and execute our game plan and that everyone is in the right spots,” Munster told NRL.com.
“If we do that and hold the ball, on our day I think we can give any team in this competition a shake. We are very confident with the team we have got. I know we put ourselves in a sticky situation coming fifth; we had every opportunity last week to beat Parramatta (and finish fourth).”
The sportsbook has the Storm at -300 to win outright and -8½ in points spread betting markets. Most of the money has come from the Raiders to cover the spread, so there isn’t much confidence in the home outfit.
Raiders Clicking
We weren’t impressed with what the Raiders were doing in the middle stages of the year, but they turned it around with four consecutive wins.
They kicked it off with a tough 24-22 win over the Dragons before beating the Knights, Sea Eagles, and West Tigers. However, those four teams are near the bottom of the table, so the wins didn’t come against strong opposition.
It could be misleading for bettors ahead of the do-or-die game on enemy territory. However, it didn’t stop the Raiders from beating the Storm 20-16 at AAMI Park earlier in the year.
It stopped a drought for the Raiders, who have largely been dominated by the Storm in recent years.
Raiders captain Elliot Whitehead thinks his team enjoys being the betting online underdog.
“I think we like being the underdog, people keep saying that no one has won it from out of the top four for a while but I believe this year is going to be different,” Whitehead said.
Storm vs Raiders Head-to-Head
The Raiders won the most recent meeting but the Storm have dominated the Raiders since 1998.
They have a 36-15 record from 51 games, including a 30-16 win on the road in April. The season is split at 1-1, but the Storm should feel confident playing a team they have easily handled.

Storm vs Raiders Prediction
NRL betting markets have the Raiders at -140 to cover the spread but we’re taking the value odds for the Storm.
They are at even-money to cover the spread and we think playing with home-field advantage should be too much for the Raiders to handle.
The Storm have more experience winning finals games and that should play a huge part on Saturday.
