Sharks Circling Tigers
The Cronulla Sharks have moved into third place on the ladder and they’re eyeing an easy win against the hapless Wests Tigers.
The sportsbook expects it to be one of the more one-sided games of the week, with the Tigers at +13½.
Despite the difference in positions, they each have something for which to play.
Let’s review the latest rugby news, stats, injury reports, and rugby odds for Tigers vs Sharks. We’ve plenty of rugby picks and predictions for you to consider.
Tigers Lacking Roar
It’s hard to know which Tigers team will turn up. They looked excellent when upsetting the Broncos 32-18 two weeks ago, but couldn’t look any worse last week against the Knights.
They had an idea chance to put space between them and the Titans for the wooden spoon, but unable to get their offense going, they suffered a 14-10 loss.
Betting online markets don’t know what to do with the Tigers, who should want to beat the Sharks. Being the worst team in the NRL isn’t an honor they want, so they should be pushing for another upset win.
Our worry is where does their offense come from? James Roberts has enough speed to worry the Sharks defenders, but there isn’t a lot of playmaking on the roster. Adam Doueihi moves in from fullback to the halves, which isn’t ideal, and it’s a reason why the Tigers are despised outsiders.
Sharks are Biting
With only a loss to the Panthers in their last five games, the Sharks are one of the in-form teams of the competition.
NRL odds have trimmed the Sharks’ odds to win the NRL premiership and that’s reflecting their odds against the Tigers. The current moneyline is -500 and that’s about as short as it gets in this competition.
Having scored consecutive wins against the Rabbitohs and Dragons, the Sharks are trending in the right direction.
However, the injury to Will Kennedy, which went unpunished, left a sour taste with coach Craig Fitzgibbon. On the plus side, young star Kade Dykes gets his chance.
“No one actually intends to do it. They are unfortunate and they are happening more than normal. But we lose a good player who’s an important part of our team for an extended period, and there was no charge,” Fitzgibbon told Fox Sports.
“Kade (Dykes) gets an opportunity, which is really exciting. When things like that happen, you really don’t want to get stuck and dwell on what you can’t control. All I can control is the team that’s going to play this weekend.”
We expect NRL betting markets to see money come for the Sharks on game day.
Tigers vs Sharks Head-to-Head
The Tigers have an historical 18-15 edge over the Sharks but it has been one-way traffic for the visitors lately.
The Sharks won 30-4 in April and they destroyed the Tigers 50-20 on the road last year. The momentum is clearly with the Sharks heading into the all-Sydney clash.

Tigers vs Sharks Prediction
It’s never easy to lay 13½ points in an NRL game but there’s not much going for the Tigers.
We’re happy to take the Sharks at the current line as we see it moving to around -14½, which is a key rugby league line.
They have the power players and experience to run all over the Tigers and march into the playoffs with momentum on their side.
