Xabi Alonso Staying at Bayer Leverkusen

Xabi Alonso has ended any speculation about his future by confirming that he will be staying with Bayer Leverkusen beyond the 2023-24 season.

Alonso is on the verge of leading Leverkusen to a historic maiden Bundesliga title, with his team 13 points clear of defending champions Bayern Munich with seven games to go. His achievements at the BayArena since his arrival in October 2022 have made him one of the most coveted coaches in Europe.

As such, the Spaniard has been heavily linked with the job at his former clubs Bayern and Liverpool, where Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp, respectively, will be leaving at the end of this season.

Bayer Leverkusen, which is -6600 to win the title in Bundesliga soccer lines, put up a fine performance at home on Saturday as they came from behind to beat Hoffenheim 2-1 in the Bundesliga.

Alonso’s side has now gone 39 games in all competitions this season without a loss. Trailing 1-0 in the 87th minute of the game, it appeared that the team’s unbeaten streak was coming to an end.

But Robert Andrich scored for the league leaders in the 88th minute to cancel out Maximilian Beier’s opener. The hosts’ comeback was completed with a 91st-minute Patrik Schick winner. They are 13 points clear of Bayern Munich and we will continue to include them in our soccer picks and parlays.

Dortmund finally beats Bayern Munich

The wait for Dortmund fans is finally over. After 3641 days, the Black and Yellows have finally won a game against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Five years on from their last Der Klassiker win, Borussia Dortmund did the unthinkable and stunned Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. Karim Adeyemi opened the scoring early at the end of a blistering counter-attack before Julian Ryerson made sure of the three points late in the game with a sublime first-time finish.

It was by no means a spectacular performance by the Black and Yellows, but they certainly earned the three points by maintaining their defensive discipline and frustrating Thomas Tuchel’s side over the entirety of the game.

Dortmund is now the second most in-form team in the league with four wins in a row, but they still have the fourth best attack in the top five. So if you’re betting online, make sure you don’t always back the overs in their games.

Dortmund plays Stuttgart this weekend in a battle of top-four teams. Host Dortmund is the +130 favorite in Las Vegas soccer odds.

Stuttgart is closing in on Champions League qualification after collecting 57 points from their 27 matches. As a result, die Schwaben are sitting in third spot and seven points clear of RB Leipzig in fifth position.

Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy added another goal to his tally last weekend, making it 23 goals scored this term, so if you love your soccer player props he is the player to watch in the German top-flight league.

Stuttgart’s historic ground became the first stadium to host 1,000 Bundesliga matches when Heidenheim visited.

While VfB Stuttgart have not themselves contested as many as 1,000 Bundesliga matches, the MHP Arena has also been used by Stuttgarter Kickers, who were in the top flight in 1988-89 and 1991-92.
